La Nouba

We had seen Cirque de Soleil on PBS and on video from our local library, so we knew how incredible the performance could be. However, seeing it in person is just fantastic! The pre-show was funny, and at times the performers were in the aisle. My DS-9 and DD-8 were enthralled the whole time. A great experience for our family.:thumbsup2

It's a huge bore. My butt became so lethargic that I had to put it on life support for a while. What a waste of time.

Go see Blue Man Group instead. ::yes::

This is the first negative thing I have EVER read about this show. It is a very different venue then the Blue Man Group.

Though I am from Quebec, I have to admit that La Nouba was my first Cirque du Soleil show. I saw it last January during my vacation at WDW and it was definitely the greatest time of my trip! The 90-minute show (plus a 15-minute pre-show) is completely amazing, with so many acrobats (I guess there are between 70 and 90), costums, accessories and acrobatic figures, and great music (I think it is played by a live orchestra, at least for some parts). Action comes from both sides of the stage, from the floor, from the ceiling... at some moment, you don't know where you have to look! Once the show was over, we were walking outside the theater, we looked at the building and we could not realize what we had just seen inside it! Any description can't do justice to La Nouba, you have to see it!

What section would you suggest? or does it matter?

Kim:wizard:

It does matter. Don't get too close to the stage or you will be get a neck ache from looking up. We had Cat. 2 seating in section 204. It was perfect.

How packed was the theatre when you went to the show? Would you be able to get Cat. 2 seat at walk up or does it get too full? We are going to go but I am hesitant to buy the tickets now because we could get bumped from stand by on our flight. But flying for free is worth the risk!!

Thanks everyone! After reading the reviews I decided to buy tickets. My husband is not interested in going so I'm taking our 7-yr old daughter to the show. My husband and son (6y) will have a guys night out. :)

Too bad for your husband and son. I enjoyed it very much (as a 42 yo male) and so did my boys (12, 10). Well worth the high price. Some of the most unique acts I've ever seen.

Here's my vacation tip (for this show and much else). Go to the early show. Why? Because then, after the show, you still have time to reflect on it. If you go to the late show, you'll feel pressed to get your daughter to bed. The next morning you'll be off and running to something else and will barely remember the show. Go to the early show, then to dinner. Sit, relax, reflect and talk about all the unique things you just witnessed. The memories will be stronger and last longer.

Thanks for the tip! We've attended other Cirque shows and my husband just isn't a fan. We know it would be too over-stimulating for our son (age 5). I'm exciting to attend this with our daughter. It's her first Cirque show and I know she'll really appreciate it.

It's possible, but I wouldn't count on it.

I could not ever stress to you enough how great this show is, and how it's so worth your time and money! For people who haven't experienced it, it might seem like a steep price, but once it's over you'll want to pay it all over again to go back in and watch. The audience is even included in the festivites, it's just an experience well worth it. GO GO GO! :-)

I strongly recommend to purchase your tickets in advance. I went in January, purchased my tickets about 10-14 days before the show and only side seats were available. The night of the show, it was a capacity audience. Nonetheless, there is a window for walk up to purchase unpicked tickets which opens 30 minutes before the beginning of the show.
