Has anyone ever done the LA/Hollywood tour offered in the "area attractions" portion of the Disneyland booking?? We did want to take one day and visit the local sites around LA and Hollywood-- was just wondering if this would be a good option or if we should try to get a rental and go it on our own?

We did the Southern California Grey Line bus tour a few years ago. It was very worth it and I would recommend it. Since we did the tour, we now basically do the tour route on our own with a rental car. The tour shows you so much in one day! Since we know the area now, we skip some things the tour does, and take more time at other places we like. The tour is great and they pick up and drop off right at your hotel.

Thanks. Do you know if that is the same tour offered through Disney on the area attractions link? How did you book the tour you went on?

We had booked that trip with Southwest Airlines.

This is the link to what we did. Sorry, I don't know how to make a clickable link. I could not find on the Disney site anything that referenced who their tour was with.

We really enjoyed the tour. We got to see so much in one day. We often go back the the places we discovered that day. I hope you can do it.

Yes, it should be the same one that is offered through DLR's website. As far as I know, the other tours that are listed on the attractions link, i.e. Seaworld, etc. are through Grayline, so the one that you mentioned should be also. :)

We went on the tour in July and enjoyed it - we booked online on the Grayline site. The only thing I wished it would have included was getting out on Rodeo Drive - not to buy anything - just to people watch and window shop!

They did try to pack a few things in and because of that some of the stays were a little short - would have liked to have stayed longer at Santa Monica Beach - it took about half an hour to walk across the beach to the sea - let alone go in it :goodvibes- think we had about 90 mins here. I suppose if you had your own transport you could have stayed longer and stopped at places at will, but we were first time visitors and it worked for us.

For the tour, do you have a tour guide off the bus?
Or do you go out on your own?
Thanks
