Just a big FYI! Keep in mind that about 1/3 of the tables in La Hacienda have no view at all of Illuminations, and even at the tables with a view you're basically seeing what I would call a "TV" view -- because you're looking at it through the windows, from across a room. There are some tables at the windows, so it's not like everyone gets up and goes to the windows for totally unobstructed view through the big windows n- there's tables there, with people at them, blocking the view, lol. Unless you're one of the very few lucky diners seated actually at those window tables, you'll be viewing at a distance.
They dim the lights drastically when Illum. starts, and people in the non-view section do get up and go over to the viewable section. However, if you do that, you're standing behind a lot of people at tables over there, crowding between their tables. Not particularly comfortable way to watch Illum, and not the best view either.
We checked in at 7:30 (this was in November), and specifically requested a window seat...not realizing that the no-view section also has several window seats. We were seated right next to a window...with a view of nothing but the side of the building & the walkway between Mexico & Norway. I have since then seen several reviews from people saying they asked for a window seat and were told they could not wait for a window seat...they had to take the next table available, period. Don't know if that's the way it is now, but that was what was reported
