DH and I just returned from a great week at WDW but I had to tell you about our experience at La Hacienda del San Angel in Epcot.

This restaurant is wonderful!! Nothing like the San Angel Inn. It's brightly decorated and the decor is quite beautiful capturing Mexico at it's finest.

Service was excellent....our server was so attentive; wish I remembered her name.

Food...OMG. You receive homemade chips with two salsas; a green and red. Green had a delishous flavor but not overly hot but the red was much more spicer and flavorful. Both were very good.

We started with the house salad which was baby spinach, queso fresco, tomatoes, pomagranate, pine nuts and avacado, and had a mustard vinaigrette dressing. I wanted more!!

DH had a beef dish and it was a steak served with spring onions, a tamal, regional veggies. From what I could see the steak was very tender but Dh said it was out of this world good!

I had Grilled tilapia served with esquites (roasted corn), nopales (cactus leaves) and mango Chutney. I love fish; but I have to say this was probably the best tilapia I've ever had. Firm but tender if that makes any sense.

Both dishes came with corn tortillas, rice and beans. We skipped dessert but I saw some very tempting items being served!!

I wanted to go back but we never made it. So I guess I have to wait until June when I'm back there with my brother and his family!!

We also had a very good meal in August. Loved the tilapia! :lovestruc Glad to read another great experience!

I so agree with you! DSis and I had dinner there in August and we thought it was wonderful, too! The service was so great! Food, truly delicious. and watching Illuminations through the large windows was awesome! this is going to be our go-to restaurant from now on!

We loved it too in August. I had the Tilapia and DS had the tacos. He is still raving about them. DH had the pork and although he said the pork was cooked very well, he thought the mole was too sweet. We are going back in Nov!

We were there this past Tuesday and I was going to start a thread about how good it was when I saw this thread. We had the Del Mar for two and it was one of the best dishes we have ever had in all our years at Disney. The scallops, shrimp, well everything including the corn were cooked to perfection. Also agree about the chips. Service was wonderful and the ambiance with the large windows is great as well.

Not a single negative, not even a little bit. Almost hate telling people this because this place is now on our 'always return' list and I want to be able to get in ;). A must try!

I'm excited to hear how good the food is. We have ressies there for next month; however, dh was skeptical. "How good can Mexican food be?" was his question. :lmao: Glad I can tell him it's worth it!

Another big fan for La Hacienda! We have been there 3 times and each time had a great meal! One of our favs!
