La Hacienda de San Angel

Has anyone been to this restaurant in Epcot? We went to the Angel Inn ast time and loved it - just wondering where exactly the HAcienda is and whether rit is a different menu?

Hacienda is located across the "street" from the pyramid, where Cantina used to be. They built a whole new building to house Hacienda as well as Cantina. You can't miss it (the entrance is on the "Norway-side" of the building, about 2/3 down, while the Cantina entrance is right on the "Future World-side" of the building right at the start.)

As for the menu, word from the CMs working there is that it's more of a "Grilled" type of menu than San Angel Inn. From the looks of it when I was there, that's pretty accurate. There are example menus up at both AllEars and WDWInfo.

We ate there the 3 day it was open in September. They weren't taking ressies yet and opened at 4:30 so we just showed up at that time and had no problem. Beautiful place! Great food! EXPENSIVE! I believe the sign outside the restaurant states that entrees start at $22.00 or so. We had a great margarita to share. I believe it was $14.00. YUMMY. They even have a Tequila aficianado who visits your table who is from Tequila. I can see that it will be a VERY popular place because it overlooks the water and people are going to be booking for Illuminations. I'm wondering if it will be a dining credit or a signature on the dining plan. Would I go again? Probably! We ate a couple things from the appetizer menu that were great and one of us got a full meal.

We were there on opening day and I can't tell you the amount of people that walked up to the menu, shook their heads and walked away again. We did the same. If a restaurant states a 'from' price, I immediately think 'what are they hiding'. I don't mind splashing out on a good meal, but until this one has a proven track record I'm keeping my dollars. We were even considering cancelling Le Cellier to try La Hacienda as I love mexican food.
In the end Le Cellier was fab though!!! (Yes I did book 180 days out!!)

They are a 1 credit restaurant on the dining plan (though they have a couple "for 2" dishes that require 2 people to each pay 1 credit). I didn't particularly care for my entree there (Arrachea), but the queso fundido and the Mexican ice cream were very good (especially the Tamarind Ice Cream). Though, it may have been because I wasn't that hungry and the steak was cooked a little lighter than I like. The service was astounding though, had many managers come around asking me how everything was and how timing and such was (it may have been because I was alone, and wearing a WDW polo shirt too ).

There were a few "from" menus when I was down there. Probably going to be the way of the future with the outdoor/exposed menus. Gives them a chance to adjust other prices as needed without having to reprint the external menu as much. It's also a pretty blatant marketing ploy, akin to how 3.99 sounds so much better than 4.00 .

However, between WDWInfo, AllEars, and (sometimes) the Disney site itself, it's tough to be surprised at what the entrees will actually cost. While those menus may not be exact, it will give anyone an idea of what the general cost of the restaurant is. (Though, I understand they were not likely up when/before you went , just a general thought to waste the last 3 minutes before it's time to go home).
