La Hacienda de San Angel and Illuminations

Got an ADR for La Hacienda for 7:30. Is this late enough that we can stretch out our meal and see Illuminations from the restaurant? Any tips on viewing it from there?

That should be late enough to be able to stretch out the meal so you can stay there and see Illuminations. Order slowly, even if you know what you want don't order your food when they take your drink order, and if it's in budget order an appetizer too. If you find yourself done just order another drink close to the end of the entree so you can stay and finish that drink.
As for seating try and get a table close to the railing, people will walk in front of tables to get a good view and that could mean standing in front of your table.

There are VERY FEW tables at La Hacienda with a great Illuminations view. You can request one but everyone does. Generally they will not allow you to wait for a table with a view. You need to accept the next available table or loose your ADR.

There's no guarantee that you will be seated at a table with a good view of IllumiNations. La Hacienda has some tables with an excellent view, some with an okay view and some with no view at all. You can ask when you check in, but pretty much everyone wants a window table and not everyone can be accommodated. This is a restaurant where a number of posters have reported that they were not allowed to wait for a view table. Instead, La Hacienda frequently seats according to the next available table for your group size.

If seeing IllumiNations is important, plan on finishing dinner and finding a good spot around the lagoon.
