Hi! I was wondering if anyone has tried the margarita flight that is served at La Cava del Tequila?? If so, how much is it and what's included? It looks interesting and I'm thinking I may try it on my upcoming trip!
1) I know they have Tequila flights.
2) Have not heard of a Margarita flight.

NOTE: The bar has 30-seats and always seems crowded.
They have 87 brands of tequila, with many at $7-$20/shot,
and most about $12/shot. That is pretty pricey, even for
DisneyWorld, let alone "the good stuff" at over $55/shot.
Get a 3-shot "flight" for $12-$18-$24, with each shot at
1/2-oz. By the way, if you have heard of the brand (eg.
Cuervo, Patron, etc) it is usually not the best. The
highest rated tequilas don't do the marketing that the
mass brands do. They also have an assortment of munchies.
Yes, they do have a margarita flight. But they don't serve it all the time. Used to be I think they stopped serving it after 4 PM. Now it is not on their menu but you may be able to ask for it.
I am not much of a tequila person... but I did flights twice: once, they were flavored or something... one had some kind of coffee added to it, etc. I enjoyed that one.
The other time I did it, it was just three different tequilas. That one, not so much, and yes it was pricey.
But I look at these as lessons in my lifelong education in the field of alcoholic beverages. Someday, I'll earn a degree... but hopefully not too soon, there is still so much to learn.
Tequila in general is a more expensive liquor, so it doesn't surprise me that their prices are in that range.
I worked at a Mexican restaurant in Boston, and I believe that a shot of our "house" tequila was $7 (we didn't even serve Cuervo because it's pretty terrible). Tequilas can range in price also even among the same brand depending on how long it's aged (blanco vs reposado vs anejo). Anyways, just saying that I don't think those prices are outrageous, especially considering it's Disney.
I'd be very interested in trying the margarita flight as well!
I actually would give the food a much higher rating the the poster above. I really liked it and pricing was in line with Disney (If this is "D" then so are most of the resturants)

It was when they served food. They got rid of most of the food. I understand they've brought the crab tostadas back but besides that it is now just shrimp cocktail, chips with salsa and guacamole.
Good tequilas (not the mass-marketed ones) in restaurants or bars ARE expensive.
I think I might cry if it's not available on my visit in three weeks Do you think if I cry they'll make one for me?? Just kidding. A friend and I have early dinner reservations at La Hacienda so I have my fingers crossed. If we can't get the flight we will each get one to share, but the flight seems like a much better value because we want to try a lot of them. I love margaritas, but I don't know how much I'll be able to drink after being in the sun and heat all day long.
The bad thing about it is that I liked one of them so much (I liked them all-- but the avocado one in particular is amazing) that I had to order a full-size drink after my flight!
Needless to say, I was feeling pretty good after that.
I wanted to try the margarita flight really badly! We were there on a Saturday, and we were told the flight is not available on weekends. When you think about it, it's probably pretty labor-intensive to make it. In theory and ideally, you hope that each margarita will be made fresh to order...it would be tough to make 5 tiny ones. I guess it's best if the place is not crowded so the bartenders have time, or really crowded so they're doing high volume.
Anyway, I plan to go back on a weekday to see if I can score one this time. If not, I will be happy to have another avocado margarita. That was absolutely outstanding!
