I have read here that the tequila bar in the Mexican pavilion is worth stopping in, I am not a tequila drinker but I thought dh & I could try something different:cool1:. I took a peek at the menu and-wow-there is quite the selection. But it is all greek to me..how would I even know what to try? It is just a bunch of names..any recommendations??:)

We went last Sept DH had the blood orange margarita..I hate tequila so I got a pina colada..lol

The great thing about the tequila bar is Disney brought in tequila experts to tend the bar. They know everything about any tequila they serve.

If you are new to this wonderful treat, I would suggest you ask as many questions as you like, they will help you. You can tell them flavors you like as they make many different margaritas.

It is fabulous, just be aware of 2 things......

1 drink will knock you on your butt if you are not used to tequila. They are potent. And second they can be expensive. At $12.50 per margarita it can get $$$$$ But oh so good!!

Enjoy!

Ditto.

i'll second the crab tostadas. their salsa and guacamole are both really good too. i don't drink often but i LOVE tequila and found a single drink on an empty stomach got my attention darn quick. my sister always says she hates tequila but had a blood orange margarita and loved it. it's one of the places we will definitely hit on our next trip. i liked the pomegranate margarita but i tend toward sweet drinks if i'm not just doing shots. a LOT of people say the jalapeno margarita is one to try...i'm working up the courage lol. they use to do a tequila flight of a few different mixed drinks as a special but it's not on the regular menu. best margaritas at wdw imo.

DH and I are really looking forward to trying this place, especially since it gets great reviews here on on the dis.:cool1:

oppps..I meant to quote both your posts on the "knocking you on your butt thing"..lol

DH and I love Tequila so this place was a must for us to try. We got the traditional flight and it was really good. Plus as a PP said the bar tenders are great they really know their stuff.

If you don't want straight tequila then the margaritas are a good option. Plus its nice and cool inside as well. Not all tequila is shots you can get sipping ones and they are really good. Maybe another option for you to try.

Not tried the food we tend to have drinks and then go to san angel for food. Might have to give them a try on our nex trip.

i went there hoping for a drink and a snack, and i got the drink. i'm not sure how the food service works here, but there are only a few small tables, and they were all taken (on a very low crowd day), so i didn't think i 'could' order food (as it was served on real plates). however, the drink i ordered (on day 1) was GREAT--the cucumber margarita. they muddled cucumbers and basil and added lime and tequila...so good! my second visit was less successful--i got the passion fruit margarita, and it was slopped out of a pitcher. i don't think it contained any actual tequila.

the man in front of me on the second day spoke with the bartender, and i watched his drink being made--it looked REALLY good (and was not slopped out of anything--all real tequila and lime) so perhaps take that approach--ask the server to make you something he likes. that's what the guy in front of me did, and he ended up with a drink i'm imagining as vastly superior to mine. (i should have just said 'i'll have what he's having'!)

We aren't tequila drinkers, either....but we ate at La Hacienda this past trip. They have a "tequila expert" that will bring you a "flight" of tequila. I think there were 3 shots that DH and I shared while waiting for our meal to come out. The "tequila expert" taught us everything about tequila, including what the colours mean, and how to properly drink it and savour it. Also included is a post-shot shooter that settles your stomach from that burning sensation (esp. if you're starving!!!) I think this was about $17 or $18...a little pricey, but we loved the experience!!!

We stopped in there shortly after it opened a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

I got the tequila flight which came with one of each "type" of tequila: Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo as well as a "chaser" for the end. We also got one of the tostada's that was also quite good.

It's definitely not the cheapest place and it is quite small but if you can get in there is can be a really nice break from the day and something different as it is the real-deal stuff

I love margaritas on the rocks and I really love the jalepeno one that they serve it is amazing!!

DH is much less of a fan but he really enjoyed the pomegranate margarita, it was a little sweeter than I like but he enjoyed it

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!
:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc
Perfect place for a light meal and great cocktail while our teens ride Test Track over and over (single rider line.)

We enjoyed this place a lot in FEbruary--had a flight of "sipping" tequilas.
For those who care--La Cava does not take Tables in Wonderland...however La Hacienda does and also has very good tequila flights.

Could someone please direct me to a menu? :goodvibes

Thanks!

Do they still offer the margarita flight? And if they don't will they still make you at least a small sample size of some of the more interesting ones?
