WE have beem talking tonight about Universal (just for a change) and discussing counter service places particularly. We ate one time in a quiet little courtyard setting and ate pasta - I remember it was a pretty place in Studios. I think it was La Bamba but all I can see on the menu are BBQ items (DD is Vegetarian so that wouldnt work now) - am I thinking of the correct place?

DH reckons it was Louies but I have looked at photos online and it definitely wasnt plus I remember seeing that restaurant near The Mummy ride, I think.

How do these two counter services compare? Are there up to date menus anywhere that I am missing?

la bamba isn't open.
it was my favorite, even more so than Louie's......:sad2:

it was a bbq rib/chicken, etc place.
also had other items.

it was located across the street from the begining of ny park/central park kind of.

up pass T2 and keep walking straight.
you will see the building (la bamba) after the walking intersection on the right.
mel's would be on the left side on the corner.

I love Louie's and usually eat there when I visit. I haven't tried Cafe La Bamba but I might this fall since it's only open seasonally. Cafe La Bomba could have been the place you're thinking of but I don't think it was ever Italian.

I haven't seen Cafe La Bamba open in over a year now. I think it may just be used as storage now...

Did you maybe take a trip over to Portofino to one of their eateries and are thinking of that?

I've seen a menu board out front during HHN for the past two years or thereabouts. It's not open a lot but it will open during heavy periods.
