I'm trying to plan a Saturday LA excursion for myself and DS9, in March, leaving from Disneyland.

I can pick up my rental car at 8am.

Must do:
WB Vip Tour - they have spots open every 15min between 8:15am (obviously too early) and 4:00pm -- I'm flexible as to if we start or end with this.

Santa Monica Pier

Want to do (in no specific order) :
California Science Center to see the Endeavor
La Brea Tar Pits
The Getty
Hollywood/Highlands/Kodak all that stuff

Please someone help me, I cannot figure out the best order to put stuff in so we can get it done in the most efficient manner (not backtracking terribly).

Also - I know traffic in general is horrible in LA but what is it like on Saturdays typically?

Unless you are planning on a very brief visit to each of these locations you are trying to do too much in a single day. This summer we did both Getty's and the Santa Monica Pier in a single day it was a lot, we were out from early morning to late at night.

If you send me an email I can send you our schedule. You also did not say which Getty you want to go to.... There are two. The Villa is free (except for the parking) but requires a reservation. The Getty Center is also free (except for the parking). The Center is huge, the Villa is very large too. You could spend a full day in the Villa and multiple days in the Center. The same can be said for the science center.

I suppose you could do what you intend in a single day but you would end up spending a very short amount of time and not seeing much at each location.

Yeah I guess I did go a bit overboard with my wants for the day, haha!

If you wouldn't mind posting your schedule here that would be great, I don't really prefer to give out my email address on message boards :-)

I think we'll take off the tar pits and Getty.

Now to figure out the best route for

WB tour
SM Pier
Hollywood/Highland
California Science Center (mayyyyybe)

I realize it will be a long day, but who needs to rest on vacation :rotfl2:

I would check out of your Disney hotel a day early, and stay somewhere in LA for 1 night. Then you could have a day and half to do more things on your list.

I will give that some thought, thank you for the idea.
