L and M car rentals

I have never heard anyone talk about them. they are much cheaper than Dollar. Can anyone let me know good or bad

I have never had problems with L&M. I have rented from them many times. They occasionally ask for proof of insurance if you don't buy theirs. I always bring a copy of the front page of my policy in case they ask. They are located on site at the airport. Pick up and return is easy.

I also have rented with the a number of times without problems...though you will find a number of people who stay way because of the problems they have had....

Very important though...if you don't want there insurance you must have more proof then your insurance card...the first page is a safe thing to bring...

I used them this past Christmas, and NEVER AGAIN. Their poor customer service and rudeness is not worth the extra savings. I am going back down next week and am renting from Dollar.

I used L&M last month- I didn't have proof of insurance but they just took the name of my insurance company and that was fine. They gave us a decent car at a good price.
However- I thought the whole car renting process was an inconvenient pain. Lugging all of our baggage accross the street and up the stairs to the car rental garage was a a royal headache. I don't know if they are all like that or if it is just L&M.

We used L&M this past Christmas with no problems. We brought copies of our insurance and they didn't even ask for it. There was no line at the terminal check in and the mini-van we rented was brand new. We would rent from them again if they had the lowest price.

We used L&M last year with no problem. We always brings insurance policy with us. I also like the fact that at L&M they don't charge extra for a spouse to drive too! That way, we both can drive instead of one on the whole trip!

Avis, Thrifty and Hertz all allow spouse to drive for free.

I have used L&M many times and have never had a problem. I can't find cheap rates from them on the internet though, I always get cheaper from other rental agencies.
But I take the cheapest rate I cn find to the L&M desk and ask them if they can beat it. They always do, usually giving me between $20 and $50 off.
Last trip I was the only driver because I didn't want to pay the extra per day for the 2nd driver. Of course I hurt my leg and my friend had to go to the airport to get his liscence approved to drive the car. They told him that since I was injured and couldn't drive and had already paid they wouldn't charge him for driving.
I plan on using L&M again in September. Peggie

Can you cancel a reservation and do a new one with the same company, I just put into dollar for another rese and I came up with $102 for 5 days instead of the $130 I made the rese for.

Yes, as many times as you want. This is the way to get the best rates....takes some time and effort but rental car prices change by the hour.
Just be sure to cancel the old ressie.

I did and I got the the rental car for $36 cheaper, now I have a rental for $133 for 5 days woohoo!

i got a mini-van from aug 18th to 29th (11 days) for $401 with all taxes. what kind of mini-vans do they have? can you pick and choose? can you get a free upgrade to a Astro van (8 pass)? are the vans new? what milage do they have on them? any other info would be great!

The van they gave us in December was a brand new Mazada. The milage was unlimited. If you look online you may be able to find a $10 off coupon. We took it with us and they honored it when we picked up our van. We did not get to choose our van but we were very happy with the Mazada.

Did you have a reservation with someone else and then cancel that day? And do they charge you if you cancel a reservation?
