We will be staying at the Kyriad for 2 nights on 3rd November. Can anyone tell me how easy it is to get to the Parks from here. The way I understand it, although it is not a Disney Hotel, it is "on site" Is this correct? Could you walk to the Parks or do you need to catch a bus? is there a shuttle bus?

Thanks in advance! :wave2:

I've seen other posts where people have walked and suggested 25/30 minutes.
The Select hotels are on a regular shuttle bus route which takes 10 minutes approx. :)

I stayed at the Explorers hotel in the summer, which is on the same 'row' as the Kyriad.
You could walk to the parks but if I were you I'd take the free shuttle bus because it's much easier, especially if you have shopping or children. The walk is a good 20-30 minutes, so I would take the bus!
Like I said, I went in the summer and the buses were very busy {unlike the actual Disney hotels where this is one bus per hotel, there is a separate bus for the 4 off-site hotels and one bus takes all people from all the 4 hotels which can make it a little crowded first thing in the morning or last thing at night}. However, at this time of year it shouldn't be as busy so I'd take the bus.

Have a fabulous time! ::MickeyMo

We also stayed at the Explorers. The buses were manic coming home after park closing but fine the rest of the time. Even first thing in the morning we usually managed to get a seat. We never had to wait more than 15 mins for a bus to take us into the parks, then two would normally arrive seconds apart! :rotfl2:

We walked back to the hotel one evening because it was a lovely warm, sunny evening, it took us about 30 mins including stopping at the Santa Fe garage shop, we enjoyed doing it but my kids are used to walking, they have to walk a mile each way to school. We were very tempted to walk back after Wishes rather than brave the bus but the path takes you through an area where there are very deep ditches either side of the path and we were unsure how well lit this part would be. Didn't fancy falling in and lying there until morning! :rotfl2:

Oh you needn't worry about falling the ditches!
We ended up walking back after Wishes twice during the summer (queues for the buses were horrendous and a fight almost broke out due to the pushing and shoving ... the ditches aren't as deep at they look and they're easy to walk down into and get out, trust me! And there are little paths over them at some points! :wizard:

Thanks Rachel, I'll feel a lot happier to do walk it in the dark now! :sunny:

Rachel and I have first hand experience of those ditches (I'm Rachel's Mum!) - we didn't realise they were there until the last minute! Fortunately between the four of us and much giggling we pulled one another out. The next time we found the little walkovers! All added to the fun of the holiday though! :rotfl:
