Will guest services hole punch the KTTW cards, or should I bring my own? I read on another thread that cards that are hole-punched do not have charging privledges.

Thanks,
Wendy

Not the case. You could probably get it punched at guest services, I've used a corkscrew in the past as well.

A hole through the card doesn't matte ror not with charge priveledges. If you don't want your kids to hav them, just make sure that you stop at guest services and let them know. Then when they go to scan the card to pay for something, it will come up as no charge priveiledges.

They actually punched a hole in DD's card while we were at Guest Services on the first day while checking on something else without even us having to ask. I then asked them to punch mine as well while we were there and it was not a problem. It was very handy!

I asked them to punch it my older child's card in November when they were punching the younger ones. The person at guest services told me that was the no charging sign and if they or I punched the older child's card, that he wouldn't be permitted to charge. I was surprised because I had read here that people punched their own holes. That was exactly what I was told by guest services......true or not for other people, I can't attest.

I even asked if wouldn't it just show on a screen if he tried to charge and guest services said no, that the hole was the sign.

On the 1/25 Magic cruise they used hole punches to show no charging privileges also. When they removed them from my kids' cards they punched them. Can't say if it would have shown up on the computer that way when scanned although I suspect it would have.

As far as carrying the cards around, I bought lanyards but we ended up just sticking the cards in our pockets and didn't have a problem. Our kids didn't always carry theirs as they are 4 and 8 and couldn't check themselves out from clubs, etc. They were always with us when they needed to get into the room. I would think a child old enough for checkout privileges could wear a lanyard or keep the card in their pocket also.

Just our experience. :)

Make sure you have charging removed once you get onboard if you don't want them to have privileges. Even though the documents are filled out with who can charge, all people in the room had privileges even though they weren't listed on the document.

One child had lost their card before the end of the embarkation lunch.....before I went to guest services to have privileges removed!

MelissaE....We used our pockets also. They provided the little cardboard sleeves and we didn't have any troubles.
