has anyone done this excursion with Virgin if so do you have info regarding times and days

I THINK you can specify when you want to go BUT I would suggest you do it independently - it's a really easy drive & then you can stay for as long as you want and, more importantly, get there when YOU want to.

We did it a couple of years ago to give me a day off driving.

I think it ran several times a week.

Pickup was from a hotel on I-Drive.

The main problem was it was a whole day there - not leaving until around 4pm I think.

Unfortunatly we had finished seeing all we wanted way beore that and thereofre had to wait around before it was time to leave.

If you have a car i would agree you would be better off driving yourself.

It's years since we went with Virgin (1998) but we had the opposite problem we ran out of time. The queues for the internal busses at KSC were so long we didn't have time to visit all the exhibits. I too would advise you to drive yourself.

We did this at Easter. We hired a car for ONE day and DP drove, it gave us the freedom to leave when we were ready. The road to get there was so easy to drive, I'd say do it by car!!

We made our own way, arrived for opening, and found we needed a full day there.

The only issue we had was how long it took to buy tickets when we arrived - if you can get your tickets in advance, I'd buy them if KSC is on your definite to do list.

(Unless of course they've improved the ticket sales).
