Kroger/Coca-Cola Coupons & Sale--Will this work?

So I've been couponing and saving quite a bit on our groceries, but I've never run into this before...

We have a rewards program with our city's recycling program called RecycleBank. Through that program I received coupons for $1 off any Coca-Cola product. I can get 10 of these per month and I just received the ten I ordered for this month.

Now, Kroger is having a sale on 2-Liter Coca-Cola products! Buy 4 for $5, and get a 5th free. Could I use 4 (or 5?) of my coupons and get them either for $1 or free? There is nothing in the ad saying no coupons, and nothing showing a limit on how many I can get either.

Coupon vets, will I get cr*p for this or will it go through okay? TIA for your help!

Yes you can. YMMV on using 5 coupons but at the least you can use 4 no problem. Have fun!

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm gonna try handing them 5 coupons and see what happens. What's the worst they can do? Hand one back and say, "No dice", right? :confused3

First, I know you didn't ask, but Walmart would say "no". I know this because there were free Coke coupons in relation to the Winter Olympics in either 2002 or 2006, and they were being uncooperative - so it's POSSIBLE for a store to refuse.

HOWEVER: as long as the store can show in an audit that they (a) had sufficient product for coupon coverage and (b) ran sufficient product through the POS (cash register), they absolutely should accept five coupons for five bottles.

It's the store's sale that is 'causing' one bottle to be free to you. The same would hold true if you had a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon, but I digress. The - oh, shoot, I knew the term when I started typing this... - redemption company! will reimburse the store for EACH coupon, plus a $0.06 or $0.08 handling fee per coupon - and will then get reimbursed by the manufacturer.

I can write this up more concisely and you can print it and take it to the store with you, if you want.

You may be able to save some of those coupons. Our Kroger lets us use ONE coupon for up to THREE items, so, in theory, you can save THREE coupons to come back and do this again on another day. :rotfl2: Ask at the Customer Service Desk how many items you can get with one coupon.

Respectfully - and I don't doubt you, Justsyd2 - if any Kroger is doing that, it IS fraud.

The only time they've done that for me is if it were a Kroger coupon (like the .35c off Kroger frozen vegetable) that print out.

Like the other poster said, if it's a manufactures coupon they're doing something wrong.
