Kroger 4x fuel points promo is back!

I just purchased my first $250 in Disney gift cards during this weekends promotion. I am only going to do $250 during each 4x fuel points because coordinating fueling up my car and my husbands car together more than once every couple weeks will be a pain! I also set up the Disney vacation account so I can get the $20 gift card (2%) after I deposit $1000.

I take fuel cans for the extra gas instead of trying to coordinate (would be next to impossible!). Then hubbie just fills his car at home using the cans. That works best for us since we're always running in opposite directions it seems.

We use the DVA as well and love it. You actually have to SPEND $1,000 (not just contribute) before you get the bonus. One nice thing is that you can pre-load your onboard account with money from your DVA, which can help push you to the next $1,000 threshold.

When you purchase gift cards at Kroger, you normally get 2x the gift card value in "fuel points." Occasionally, they will run promotions where they award 4x the card value in fuel points. 1,000 fuel points = $1 off a gallon of gas (max 35 gallons at a time). So, you can purchase a $250 Disney gift card and get $1 off 35 gallons of gas - saving yourself $35. You must use your fuel points by the end of the next month, so you don't want to buy more than you can use. You just need a Kroger card and an online Kroger account. Sometimes you have to download the digital coupon to your card (not always though). Check out the Kroger site for details.

Awesome thanks! So you buy the cards for face value and the savings comes at the tail end saving on gas? Smart thinking. How do you know in advance that it is 4x the card value?

Yes - your savings come at the gas pump. Watch the Kroger fliers for the 4x advertisement. They also post signage in stores, but not always. Also, sign up for an online account at Kroger.com. Sometimes in the past, I've received an email. Periodically check the digital coupons out there. I was surprised to see one this past week for the promo.
