We were really looking forward to Kouzzina but were really disappointed in some of the dishes.

Pros: My husband's Lamb Shank was really nice.

Cons: Calamari was well cooked but very greasy. I have had breaded and deep fried many time before and this one was not very good.

Vongole: I have also had similar dishes elsewhere, and make it myself. I expected the oil and butter but this version was also very oily, rather than a flavorful dip for the bread it tasted like a puddle of cheap vegetable oil.

My Fisherman's Stew was FAR TOO SALTY. I could not eat the broth. On the first bite it was the overwhelming flavor. Fish and clams cooked perfectly but on the verge of inedible.

Result: Went home feeling bloated and quezy. Wish I ordered the fish everyone raves about.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience there. We ate there in September and loved it. I considered the stew but got the fish instead and it was magical! I didn't try the other dishes you listed. Glad to hear I made the right decision. If you ever go back, be sure to order the fish. Thanks for posting your review.

I posted a review recently, I was also VERY disappointed. My DH used to be IN LOVE:love: with Cat Cora and now he cannt stand the sight of her...when Iron Chef is on and he sees her, he says..."She robbed us!!"

I had a steak that was sooooo salty it was almost inedible. DH had the stew, it was small portion, bland...not much fish....the best part of the meal was the brussels sprouts.

Anyway, sorry you had a bad time, too. This is one restaurant we will NOT be giving a second chance to!

I loved that fish too! Don't be freaked out by the fish's wholeness...

We actually were there on their official opening day and we saw Cat Cora. They were all outside taking pictures of her and Chef Mickey. I ran over with the video camera but they quickly surrounded her so no one could get a good look and then they all ran back inside. It was a neat experience though. I never knew how beautiful she was!

We ate there in early September and the food was really good!

We had the Calamari too, but ours was not breaded, it was in batter, light and crisp and very good.
We did not have the fish, but both meat dishes were really outstanding.
The baklava was a bit on the heavy side, but the Greek doughnuts were out of this world.

Apparently her good looks weren't transposed to the food they are serving at the restaurant---.

If I could ever learn how to post pictures on this darn board, I would post a picture of Cat and I at a "Party For The Senses" event at Epcot a few years ago. My husband has had a crush on her ever since, even though he knows she doesn't like his "type." LOL...probably made him like her even more!

I tell him that I read positive reviews of Kouzzina on this board and he can't believe it. It was not a matter of liking or disliking the food...there were things wrong on so many levels.

We had breakfast there a few weeks ago. It was ok. My husband had eggs with sweet potato hash, I had the oatmeal which I thought was really good, a little on the small side. Not that you need a huge bowl of oatmeal, but a little more would have been ok. My husband said his was good but nothing to run back for. We have not done dinner there yet, and by the reviews I see it looks like we won't try it for a long time. There are to many other good places to go. I'll wait for them to get the kinks out first.

I'm sooo bummed!!! I have been planning to make reservations here for our trip. I'm Greek and love the option to eat Greek food at WDW,but I'm not liking what I read in reviews. I sure hope its better by next Summer...pluto:

I realize I'm in danger of sounding creepy here, but is that you in the picture with Cat? Because you are lovely yourself! :goodvibes

I thought the same thing, wildernesslodgelover. You go girl!

^ Don't worry, I've been here for two years and I still can't do it...
Dozens of other message boards, no problem. The Dis... *nothing* ever works...

But, back to Cat....

I'm sorry to hear so many negative reviews of the place. Kevin's review on the podcast was fairly discouraging as well...

Sounds to me like she 'sold out'.

kxs and itchin-awww, yes, that's me and thanks for the compliment. That was a REALLY good PftS and I think on was on my 10th "sample" of wine at that point...always makes me *GLOW*!

Of course, if you saw me after the 11th glass and on...pretty scary sight! LOL.

Josh-Yeah...I can post pics elsewhere...but I always struggle here! I just posted it to my FB account, then right clicked, copied the "properties" and posted it as a link.

We ate there on our trip we just got back from and were also really disappointed.

DW got the Lamb Shank and she really liked that - and we also liked the baked bread appetizer, but that was about it.

Beyond the food, we also thought the restaurant itself was very underwhelming ... nothing special about the setting and was very loud

needless to say, I feel that the chairman would not be pleased

We originally had reservations there for the night before, but we cancelled them after looking at the menu. Not only are there almost no vegetarian options, the ones they do have sound nasty........ We didn't regret not going there...... Instead we went to Ohana's with NO reservations and waited two hours to be served! Chef TJ made me special vegetarian dishes and it was an awesome experience! I think the only thing that would have topped that at Kouzinnas is if Cat Cora came out and served me the food herself! :rotfl:
