Kouzzina or not Kouzzina - that is the question

I've been pretty set with my ADRs for awhile, but now I'm wondering whether I should change my Kouzzin res to something else. My attitude has been that I should keep it despite the mixed reviews because people have different tastes and perhaps I'd enjoy it. Still, it seems like there are many more negative reviews than positive and I'm wondering whether I shouldn't just change it. Have you ever cancelled ADRs at certain places thanks to reviews only to regret it later (or, conversely, be glad you did because you had a great meal elsewhere)?

Keep the reservation and decide for yourself whether you like it. Don't let a bunch of anonymous strangers on the internet scare you away from a place that looks good to you.

We have a reservation on the 25th. I too was wondering if I should keep it. We are staying at BCV , so its close and I am thinking of sending our kids to the Sandcastle Club that night so my husband and I can enjoy some me time.

I wanted to eat there last month but backed out because I dont think we will like the cinnamon in the food (hated it at Boma)

I am thinking of adding in for our long trip in Oct, hope the menu changes again

I also agree. If we had listened to all the negative reviews about San Angel Inn, we would have missed a great meal and one of the best servers we've ever had at WDW.

BTW, we happen to like Kouzzina.

One must make their own decisions.

NOTE: The food, although named "Greek" resembled Greek in
name only. Very, very Americanized. My $32-steak was dry and her
$27-lamb was overcooked. Both had to be sent back to the kitchen.
The daughter had the sampler. Pretty small, 6-7 bites for the three
items. Poor room design makes for terrible accoustics, making it
one of the noisest eateries in WDW - worse then Chef Mickeys on
a bad day. As many people have offered, the service is VERY
spotty.
We waited 19-minutes to see the waiter AFTER being
seated (5:54pm-6:13pm). Family bought me one of the a 6" podium
Sara Lee frozen birthday cakes - surprisingly it was quite yummy!

(I guess when you get to be a famous chef, you don't care about your
restaurant, as long as the bucks flow in - or it seems that way.)

We really enjoyed our dinner at Kouzzina and are looking forward to returning. DBF had the whole fish which was amazing and I had the lamb shank. We could detect no cinnamon in either dish. When we go back I'm getting the whole fish. It looked and tasted excellent.

This is one of our faves for a few items(lamb shank, spreads, desserts) but it's one of the few that pumba, pakey, rustyscupper, uncleromulus, figment and some of the other regular "anonymous"posters don't seem to enjoy as much as we do.

FWIW ya'll are on a food forum, the normal reason to be here is to ask a question of "anonymous" posters who have been there and done that.I trust the judgement of quite a few of the regular posters here enough to try items they describe or try a spot they raved about. Some of the folks here eat there regularly, some are quite qualified to give a review. They have added another valuable resource to maximize our experience.

We ate at Kouzzina on our last trip in September and loved it! We were not sure how much we would like it but were pleasantly surprised! Dh does not love cinnamon but really enjoyed the lasagna dish he ordered. I had a chicken dish that was excellent and I do not usually order chicken at a restaurant! I can't remember what dd(4) had but I know that she enjoyed her meal as well. Oh and dessert was great! We had the Loukoumades and they were awesome!

We have actually booked Kouzzina for breakfast on our upcoming trip. I am looking forward to it!

Thank you all!

I'll probably keep it - I mean, what's the worst that can happen? I don't have a great meal? It wouldn't be the end of the world. I normally only care about food, but I hope the service isn't THAT bad. I don't like to rush through a meal, but neither do I want to be waiting for half an hour between courses, esp. as I'm by myself (I dine solo all the time, by the way).

I can't disagree with your probable decision to keep the reservation. However, I had a reservation booked that I recently cancelled. I've never eaten there before and wanted to try it, however time is precious at Disney and so is eating. Having said that, I cancelled that rez because of all the negative feedback and booked something with much more positive feedback. I agree that you can't always go by what other people say but then again we're only going to be there 5 nights and I don't want to chance 1 of those nights by having a bad dining experience. I'll save the "iffy" dining destinations to another trip down the road when I've pretty much exhausted most of the other dining options.

The Rusty Scupper is accurate, as usual. I could have written this review myself with two changes- we went 9/2010, and we didn't celebrate a birthday...though sadly, it sounds like the cake was the best part of the meal!
Cat Cora should be ashamed. Bad food, bad service, small portions and high prices. Two of us ordered steak, we each took a bite and found the waiter had reversed the dishes. When we told him, he basically said oh well, you already bit them. When we discuss this meal, the word "disgusting" gets said a lot. And we LOVE greek food!
Spend a few more $ and go a few doors down to Flying Fish!

I can't argue either.......I have a feeling I'll be going back and forth on this. Maybe if I can get into California Grill, but that's doubtful. I may just decide to cancel dinner and go for breakfast as the breakfast menu looks delish

Wow. I don't understand how people expect that this place is going to be "traditional greek" food? You're not in the mediterranean, you're in DISNEY where they have to appeal to the masses. Sheesh.

That being said, my husband and i went last year and while I agree with the service being "meh," I thought the food was actually pretty good. We both got the trio for our meal and really enjoyed it. I ended up making traditional pastitsio at home (I found a traditional recipe online, which took all day to make) after loving the one I had at Kouzzina.

I say, try it and choose for yourself. I've been to some restaurants that I wouldn't go back to on Disney property, but if I didn't try them, I wouldn't know that. Le Cellier was one restaurant that I don't particularly love and haven't gone back to, but everyone always raves about it. To each their own.

how is the whole fish cooked ... is it steamed, broiled, etcc..

I just had to comment on this! I absolutely despised BOMA for exactly the reason that you state. I ate corn chowder for the entire meal. However, I had the trio at Kouzzina and LOVED it! Even the cinnamon chicken.

I loved that meal, as did the other 7 people in our party, and we will definitely be back. Boma, not so much.

I'm personally fine with non-traditional Greek - I just like good food, period. You're righ - to each his own. I may be coming down with "too much time left before my trip, so I need to tweak my itinerary because there's nothing left to do" -itis, lol. I think I'll likely just leave it alone and take my chances that I'll find something I like.

Cinnamon chicken? That reminds of the episode of Little House on the Prairie where Laura made "cinnamon" chicken for Almanzo, lol; I didn't really know there was such a dish.

Cinnamon is one of my most favorite things in the world......yum!
