Is anyone aware of Kouzzina closing for renovations or anything that would make it totally unavailable? We are staying at Boardwalk and were hoping to try a meal there. There is nothing any time during those days :confused3

Does Disney post restaurant closings anywhere? I don't know if I've ever seen anything about that.

Are you trying to book online? Try calling. Either that, or go online and instead of searching for "dinner" search a specific time.

It's simply not available anytime of the day those two weeks. Flying Fish is also not available. Both were wide open a couple of weeks ago. Not sure that there has been any word why. The YC/BC does have availablity.

That is one of the most popular times for DVC members to travel and there are 2 DVC resorts within walking distance of those restaurants. So my guess, you are seeing the impact of a busy travel season for DVC. I doubt it is a refurb since the restaurant just opened.

Keep trying...you never know when something may open up.

I will be there for a Department of Education conference from Nov. 29th though Dec. 4th. The conference hotel is Swan and Dolphin. The overflow hotel is the Yacht Club (which is why there are no standard rooms available)Last year over 5000 people attended the conference when it was in Nashville.

I booked dinner reservations for myself and a colleague. I am not sure though if my other 4998 colleagues booked reservations as well. Probably not...but if any are bringing family I am hoping some are doing their homework and booking ADRS.

Maybe this is another reason for the unavailability of restaurants in the boardwalk area.

Good ideas, but to me, it doesn't make total sense that they would be TOTALLY booked all day for that two week period. I can get almost anywhere else during that week. I can't imagine that only Kouzzina and Flying Fish are sold out!

I'll see if I have a few minutes at work to call tomorrow and try to get some info.

It's not like I'm having trouble getting what I want - it's that there is absolutely NOTHING during that week. If I just search for breakfast all week, I can get into anywhere except Chef Mickey's. Why would Kouzzina be more popular than Akershus, Crystal Palace, WCC - everywhere!

I won't stew over it, I was just hoping that there was some place to check about closings. Thanks everyone for your encouragement!

Flying Fish only serves dinner and Kouzzina only serves breakfast & dinner. This is one of the reasons they are harder to book than restaurants that serve 3 meal periods each day. Add this to the reasons mentioned above and the fact that it has been possible to book that time frame for several weeks already and I can understand why they are booked. Don't give up though, sometimes you can get lucky when checking and find availability due to someone having cancelled an ADR.

Certainly hope not, as we have an ADR on 12/1 for Kouzzina. Made as soon as the window opened for ADRs, and we could only get 7:50pm.
