I have not had dinner at Kona (yet), but I loved their breakfast! The food was wonderful and the service was great.
I have been to Ohana during each of my last 2 trips for dinner and I don't think I'll go back. I enjoyed the starters, but the meats were less than desireable (both times)... on our next trip I'll probably head over to Kona for dinner one night.
love love LOVE Kona! Food was fantastic(we are going twice this trip!) and the service was great. I had the Macadamia Mahi Mahi and it was heaven... and DH had the steak Teriyaki after someone on here said they would kill for it..and they were right. If you have kids the Kiddie Kone is a huge hit for dessert. My kids can't wait to go back and neither can I. 2 big thumbs up from us.
We ate at Kona on our last trip and it was one of the best meals we have had in Disney. I actually liked it much better than Ohana. Also, the desserts were to die for .
We also love Kona! On our last trip to the Poly we had b'fast there every morning, and we also tried dinner and just loved it! I had a salad and seafood bisque and it was a total meal, for a great price. Everyone else liked what they had too, so we'll be back in September for sure! I am always looking for hidden "gems" around WDW that aren't as busy but still great -- Kona is just that!
Kona was the second best meal on my last trip just behind Le Cellier. Our server (Jason) was excellent and the food was primo! I prefer Kona to 'Ohana personally.
Mahi Mahi described as heaven?! I cant wait to try it. The menu looks interesting to me. Guess I will cxl the ADR for Ohanas. Was trying Ohanas for the kids (dessert sounded good too) but there are so many Kona lovers out there that have me convinced to give it a try.

Wish you could do both. The kids would love the games at 'Ohana, makes dinner fun. For family fun and good food, 'Ohana, for super fantastic food, Kona!
Well I like the Mahi Mahi- the time of year we went- July HOT the fish was just perfect. And it was perfectly cooked. I have had it elsewhere -even in Disney and they often overcook it. not at Kona- just perfect. Now DH loves seafood but had just had some for lunch that day so he went with the steak. I really believe you can't go wrong with either one. But my personal choice would be the Mahi again! I will get it in 9 days!! !
Dinner at the Kona is better than breakfast. The atmosphere is what keeps me coming back but the food is not my favorite. I don't know.. I guess I like buffets!
