This trip is all about the food :) We are doing the deluxe plan and have a bunch of signatures booked. We've been to Kona years ago and the food has always been top notch, so we have a lunch ADR to try the sushi and new steak dish. But now I keep reading great reviews about Sanaa am an considering a switch. We already have Boma and Tusker House booked, as well as California Grill Brunch and Tokyo Dining (amongst many others). So, no shortage of adventurous food. Which would you choose? On the DXDP at Sanaa, are you able to order the larger bread service with all the sauces? Also, can you get two meat choices instead of one meat and one veggie for the Potjie? One more question...are the animals usually up and about at 2:30, when we'd be eating? TIA!

I don't know the answers to your questions about substitutions, but we had lunch at Sanaa at about 2 pm in April and there were animals out!
I just went through my phone photos
2:12 pm we could see at least 2 giraffes
2:35 pm I took photos of at least 3 zebras
at 2:46 some type of feeding truck arrived and 2 giraffes walked over to it (a zebra is also in the shot, but not paying any attention to the truck!)

I thought Sanaa was great and would definitely recommend it. I've never had a Kona lunch so I can't compare.

Definitely Sanaa over Kona. The food at Kona is quite mediocre, IMHO, including the sushi which is mostly rice. As long as the sun is up, there's a good chance you'll see animals at Sanaa

My whole family would definitely pick Sanaa for lunch. We love Kona for breakfast but Sanaa for lunch. We go for lunch all the time and always see the animals.

We ate at both places for lunch on our trip in May. I was so disappointed with Sanaa. I had heard such great things about the bread service, and just didn't care for it at all. We loved our Kona lunch though. The sushi was so good, we asked for another plate, and the service was excellent too. I don't necessarily think Sanaa was bad, it just wasn't for us.
