I know this has been asked may times before, I booked for O'Hanas but I have been seeing more than a few negative reviews about it, I was wondering for me and DBF (no kids) what would be the best choice and what peoples opinions of Kona are? :confused3

IMO, the food is MUCH better at Kona Cafe. Excellent menu selections at Kona, as opposed to a fixed family style dinner at Ohana. We think that the food at Kona rates among the top Disney restaurants.

O'hana is a nicer restaurant--there is virtually no theming at Kona-- but if you don't have kids with you, O'hana can get VERY loud during the various children's activities, while Kona is a quiet lobby restaurant like you may find at any large city hotel.

We love Konas. :goodvibes We ate there first time in Jan. 05 on the Dining Plan (paid for it). We also ate at O'hana's that trip. O'hanas was very disappointing. We had an early seating, maybe that's why the skewers were overcooked! Anyway, we were too far away to participate in the one game ran during our meal and my DD5 was disappointed.

The first time we ate there we almost didn't! When we saw the restaurant-it looked like a upgraded coffee shop. We were concerned, but since we were hungry we went it. We're we glad we did- It's now one of our favs. We have been back to Kona's now at least once each trip. We even ate there twice Sept. 05 (Disney Dining again). On our last trip my DD6 discovered how much she loves the sticky wing appetizers! Yummy! The servers have been great-very accomodating. The one disappoint is that on our first trip we had the rare seared tuna, which was delicious! Now it is off the menu-they say it's too expensive to serve-hopefully they'll bring it back!

We are returning to Konas in Sept. for at least 1 dinner. I booked our ADR early enough so that we can go outside afterwards and watch Wishes across the lagoon.

We love O'hanas. It is a must for us. The food is excellent and I love the drink that comes in the pinapple, what is it a lupau lupau? :confused3

Some individuals are very critical while other individuals have differences in taste, while others are disappointed by menu changes. Also, each visit to either one of these two restaurants will be unique depending on the season and staff.

Overall, both Ohana and Kona Cafe are good solid choices. Each have their positives and negatives. If you have not experienced either of these two restaurants you should note they both have more positives than negatives and no matter which one you choose you should have a memorable time. Ohana is family style and I perceive is ideal for groups while Kona is table service made to order with tables better suited for two.

We have been to both many times and prefer Kona Cafe' over Ohanas. We love Kona's so much and all of the choices, esp. deserts, that we are booked there for 3 ADRs for our next trip (next week). We no longer do O'hanas anymore, as it wore off after the second or third visit. The menu is too limited for us. We like choices and since we're doing the DDP, Kona's provides us with a better selection.

If you have kids -Ohanna's, no kids Kona's.

We love Kona Cafe. We've been there several times and have had a great meal every time.

'Ohana has a lot of fans, but we didn't enjoy our meal there and won't be going back.
