We are staying in February. Trying to decide between Ohana or Kona Cafe? No kids, just the wife and I.
Opinions?

My wife and I no kids trip in Feb too, after looking at the menus we chose Ohana and then another night we're going back for Capt. Cooks. But that was just based on menu options. Watched the DIS review of Kona looked interested but just didn't excite us as much as Ohana and Capt. Cook.

I was unimpressed with Kona, but between the price of ‘Ohana’s dinner offering and mixed reviews, wouldn’t want to go there either. I’d take the quick, lovely walk to GF to eat at GF Cafe (we had two excellent meals there, lunch and dinner ) or go to the Contemporary for the Wave (great breakfast, haven’t had dinner there but reviews are really good).

‘Ohana is a love it or hate it place. I wont dine there if you paid me to go.
kona for me

Kona has the advantage of better food and no coconut races.

We have always had delicious meals at 'Ohana (always dinner). We were unimpressed with Kona. Nothing particularly was bad; it was just meh.

I must agree 'Ohana for dinner (have made dinner reservations there for 6 straight trips and never had a bad experience- but that might be the backscratchers), but the Kona breakfast is one of my favorite meals on property. I have tried 'Ohana for breakfast and Kona for dinner and never felt they were equal to their counterpart.

I like OHana better. Kona has more limited menu, smaller dining area and service is poor in IMHO.

We have not done Ohana for years. It is just too much food for us. Kona was a favorite of ours for many years. But they changed the menu early last year and I was very unhappy with my meal and experience last March. The dinner was ala carte and as a solo on that trip, I had to order a side that was for 3-4 people for 1 person to go with my steak. I love mashed potatoes (and it is a joke that if I get served them first to pass my plate around so others can have some) but there was no way to eat that much! Just so wasteful! I made a reservation for September and hoped the menu would change, but it didn't. I ended up cancelling it as my Mom and I were both miserably sick and the menu just was still so unappealing to us. Right now, it is not in the plans for 2020 unless the menu improves.
