we arrive in WDW on september 12th which is my dh and I's 15 yr anniversary. I have celiac and we had talked about dining at O'hana.. I booked the reservation, but Im leaning back towards Kona. I loved it last time and I was thinking i might like the sushi over the meat at O'hana.. anyone have any advice??

Thanks..

Hard to go wrong with either of those, at least in my view. Ohana is likely to be a bit louder and more of an "experience." Kona's food is probably going to have a bit more attention paid to it from a personalized approach. Hard to know a month in advance whether you will be in a meat-on-a-stick vs. sushi mood! As a general rule, I can get in either mood pretty easily, so I would be happy with either of these options.

Hated ohana 2 times.... Really enjoy Kona!!

Ohana, burnt or raw meat on a stick... Caveman food!

I can't speak to Kona but did eat at Ohana. The food was good but it was very loud with the entertainment shouting frequently and children were encouraged to partake in the experience making for a chaotic experience. Great for families but I wouldn't go there as a couple IMHO.

Both are good IMO, cant go wrong either way:thumbsup2

We really like Ohana....but we LOVE Kona! We have never had a bad meal there and service has always been great!

I don't love Ohana dinner (much better for breakfast in my opinion). Very loud and we felt rushed when we ate there in May. I have eaten at Kona only twice and both times were ok- didn't knock my socks off. If I were comparing food only, I'd say Ohana.

Sure for the meats but I doubt Cavemen would like the bread pudding, veggies, pot stickers and noodles.

IMHO, 'Ohana for the bread pudding and fun, Kona for everything else. We find deciding difficult so do both.

But being a celiac ( gluten free) I can't have the pot stickers, noodles or bread pudding. I get salad and meat.
I changed the ADR to kona and I think we will enjoy it better. Plus we have kids in tow.
Thank you!

I've been to both, but for breakfast. I loved both! Dinner at Ohana sounds great but I have a peanut allergy & they cook in peanut oil so I would have to choose dinner at Kona. But both menus look great!

I've been to both and enjoyed both....you can easily overeat at Ohana going away feeling like a stuffed pig and as PP said the atmosphere is noisier than Kona. Also since it's so popular you may have to wait a bit for your table a Ohana even with an ADR as I don't remember ever having to wait at Kona.

DH really enjoys the sushi at Kona and it may be a bit more intimate for an anniversary celebration. I don't think you can go wrong with either..just go with your gut.
