which would you pick?

This is tough cause I love them BOTH but I would probably say Ohana!

Bread - it's a tie (and possibly the same bread).

Apps - from Kona I order sticky wings and Ohana has wings too. I think Kona's might be slightly better. Ohana I don't eat the Wontons but DH likes them.

Sides - LOVE the noodles at Ohana!

Entrees - I like the turkey and shrimp at Ohana! The entrees I have had at Kona have been ok - but DH got the shrimp and scallops and there were only 2 each of shrimp and scallops. At Ohana you can eat as much as you want.

Dessert - Ohana bread pudding is delicious but I've heard you can order it at Kona also. If this is true - then Kona would get the edge since it has other choices.

Really - you can't go wrong!

O'Hana's!!!!
The food is great at both, but I like the atmosphere at O'Hana's better. At Kona- it is soo open I feel like I am on display. O'Hana also is great for kid's.

Have never been to Kona but last year, while waiting for our table at Ohana, I spoke to a family that had tried both and they LOVE Ohana. We do too!!!

The bread is to die for and the food is really good. There sides [wings, noodles, veggies, and dumplings] are very tasty. To finish, the icing on the proverbial cake has to be that bread pudding. My word!!

Need I say more. Great thing is that from other peoples reviews, you might not do bad with either choice.

We like both and often do both!:rotfl: But, I think Ohanas is more fun and the food is better at Kona!:lmao:

I find Ohana to be bothersome.

First off its served family style, which is great if there is more than 2 people in your party. When I went with my entire family it was great. When I went with just my fiance it was weird to eat family style meals anywhere...Ohanas, Garden Grill, etc.

Secondly, it takes forever to get what you want to eat. They bring the "main course" meats around on skewers and each server pretty much goes around the room with one meat at a time to all of their tables. There are 4 different meats. I timed it last time and our server came around with a new meat about every 15 minutes which meant it was an hour before we got seconds on a meat we really liked. When we requested more of one they said it would be around eventually.

Kona on the other hand is great. Plus "specialty drinks" count with the dining plan. So we got virgin Pina Coladas and virgin Strawberry Daquiri's instead of sodas at no extra cost!

We had dining reservations for Ohana 2 nights and Kona 0 nights last trip and ended up at Kona 2 nights and after our first dinner at Ohana's we cancelled the second reservation.

We prefer Kona because we can choose exactly what we want off of the menu. Too many appetizers fill us up quickly, and we may split a dessert. DH and I have had the shrimp and scallop entrée and while it wasn't huge, with the appetizer and dessert, it was perfect. I love the tuna Oscar and I can order sushi too. I think Ohana always sounds fun, but DD 9 will only eat the noodles, so that's no fun for her. I like the variety they offer, but it always sounds too heavy a meal for me. Also, the timing of Ohana simply doesn't suit us. Either way-- enjoy!

We like both and have both breakfast and dinner at each. They are two different atmospheres, but the food is good at both. We prefer Kona for breakfast and Ohana for dinner. As others have mentioned, Kona is menu service and Ohana is family style. You won't leave either hungry.

Hi. They both have different atmoshpheres about them. Ohanas is louder and family style dining where Kona is order of the menu. They both have delicious food.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Love Ohana. We got nice service and our server brought skewers to us every few minutes, asking often if we wanted more of anything. One time the shrimp the server had on the skewer was somewhat warm and he realized this and brought a nice fresh hot one over (i dont think i minded either way though as long as it was shrimp i was happy but it was nice he did this)

thanks everyone. since we've done both for breakfast and dinner is not a character meal we're going to go with Kona.

i wanted to try the almond chicken last trip but we didn't get a chance so this trip we will :)

Hi Kurby, my vote also goes for Ohana. It’s a fantastic place - their food & service are very good. Best place to be with family and its even better if you have kids.

I like both! However, it's a totally different experience. Kona is great food, but it's more of a "traditional restaurant". Ohana is great food, entertainment, atmosphere, but it takes a while. If you just want somewhere good to eat, go Kona. If you want a long dinner with entertainment and the whole "experience", go Ohana. Now, I don't want it to sound like I'm down on either...in fact, I am only making one ADR this time for our upcoming trip, and it's to Ohana!
