We want to eat at the Poly, because we are planning to watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly (we being me, DH and DS9.)
So what do you think, and why?
For what it's worth:
:) We'll be on the DDP.
:) We went to 'Ohana once before and DH liked it, I thought it was OK.
:) We've never been to Kona
:) DS9 is not bothered by eating in an upscale (quiet) atmosphere.

Our ADR window for June opens in a few weeks! Help me decide!

Since you've already done 'Ohana, its time to try Kona.

Ever since Kona got rid of their filet, I've not been impressed with their menu so I voted for Ohana's.

They are very different dining experiences. I really like both! If you are looking for a more interactive, fun, musical experience do O'hana; if you want a more quiet, nice dinner then Kona.

I had a coconut chicken dinner last year at Kona that was really, really yummy. Highly recommend it. Both kids (10 and 12) say O'hana - they love the turkey tips and banana bread pudding.

We've had dinner at each of these places three times, and lunch once at Kona.

All three times, 'Ohana has been excellent. Kona, on the other hand, has slipped in the last two years. We had a great meal in 2006, an okay meal in 2007, and a mediocre (to say the best) meal there in 2008. The service on the most recent visit was also subpar.

I'm not sure if we'll have dinner there again. We might do lunch because we're staying at the GF on the DxDDP, so we can easily jump over there for lunch from the MK, but I do not believe it merits a special trip.

I've had dinner at O'Hana on several occasions but have only done lunch at Kona. I liked Kona okay but really love the dinner at O'Hana.

Since you haven't been to Kona I would probably go there just for something new but as far as which one I prefer, it's O'Hana. :)

Tough call...If you want Atmosphere, Ohana. If you want great food, Kona. I think Kona Cafe is one of Disney's best kept secrets. I voted for Kona, but if you had asked for atmosphere, I def would have chosen Ohana. Can't go wrong with either one. ")

Tuna Oscar (mmm, fried green tomatoes) is my favorite meal in The World. So I'd go with Kona :cool1:

I was also going to say that Kona is among Disney's best-kept dining secrets! I tried it for the first time for the Tonga Toast, but then decided to hop over to see if there were any openings for dinner while I was staying at the Poly. Although I've eaten at Ohana countless times and have always enjoyed it, I really feel like Kona has much better food and is a relaxed, comfortable environment....

I've found that the food at Ohana can often be too sweet or salty. The atmosphere is loud and although that can be fun, there are lots of places at Disney to eat with similar atmospheres. Kona is quieter but still laid-back, which is the reason I'll be eating at Kona (for breakfast AND dinner) on my upcoming trips!

It seems to me from your post that you want people to say Kona, so I vote for Kona!

You got me! I wasn't trying to sway public opinion. I tried to state the facts, but I guess you could see through my semi-transparent wording. ;)
I trust the opinions of the people on this board, and I honestly want to know what everyone thinks. Please don't vote Kona just because it seems like it's what I want to hear.
Thanks!!

We have never been to Ohans for dinner but it doesn't appeal to us that much either.

However, we (me, Tyler - 10 - and Skyler -4) all loved Kona for dinner. It is good and fun food.

I vote Kona!!!!

These are my sentiments exactly. Kona is just outstanding for every meal - wait....err....no, it's awful. don't go there. bad, bad food. (can't have everyone going there - the ADR will be too tough to get!!:rotfl: )
