Kona Island Sushi Bar

We're considering a stop at the Kona Island Sushi Bar during our visit in March. I have two questions:

Does Kona Island Sushi Bar qualify for a 20% discount under Tables in Wonderland?

Is it hard to get 4 seats right after they open at 5 pm?

Yes, they accept the TiW discount.

As for finding seats at the bar at opening I don't know; when we ate there it was about 9:30PM and we and our friends were the only ones there. The sushi was quite good, by the way.

I don't know if you have seen it but it is a VERY small area. I think if you want to eat seated together you should definitely be there when they open. We stayed at the Poly last year it seemed like between 6-9 it was always busy and all the seats were taken.

Many thanks! My kids (6 and 9) are sushi fanatics. They even like eel. Odd children!

We'll plan to be there before 5 and stake out some stools. And it's great that it qualifies for TiW. (This is our first time using TiW, so we're learning all the tricks.)

I was there last night. There are not many seats but they were not busy. They stopped serving at 10.

We were there a month and a half ago for dinner. We had an early meal, so we got there 15 minutes before Kona or the sushi bar opened for dinner and ever though there were a few dozen people waiting around when the restaurant finally opened due to the Spirit of Aloha show being cancelled because of weather, there wasn't anyone at the sushi bar.

I think if you get there a little before the place actually opens, you won't have a problem finding four seats together at all.

You can also order from the sushi bar menu at Kona Cafe. That way, you can make ADRs if you wish.
