Thinking about trying Kona Cafe for dinner. Can anyone tell me about it? How is the food, service? I have seen the menu which looks good, but I would love some opinions on it.

We really enjoy Kona. The noodle dish was great, as well as the steak. Everyone in my family loves the ice cream sundae with cotton candy! Our server was great when we were there in July.

I really enjoy Kona too.We have stayed at the poly the last 2 trips and have eaten there many times and have always been happy. It is not so crazy to get into and we can usually get a walk up with a short wait.I like the wings(my favorite anywhere)and I always get the teryaki steak. The bread and butter is fabulous too!We usually order room service which comes from there too-this trip I am thinking about staying somewhere else but I really would miss Kona and the room service from there.

On my last trip my family and I ate dinner there and it was great. The atmosphere feels busier than it does during breakfast but it still has a great environment and some of the best food. I had my favorite disney meal ever there which was the Coconut Almond chicken. It was amazing. My whole family loved all of the dishes ordered though and we all want to go there again.

I asked about Kona Cafe a couple of weeks ago. Just about everyone said they LOVED it, and for some it was their favorite meal of their entire trip! The number one most popular entree here on the DIS is the teriyaki New York strip steak. Others said they enjoyed the pan Asian noodles, ginger-crusted ribeye, and tuna Oscar. A few said NOT to get the coconut almond chicken. A lot of the apps are also popular.

You can also get the sushi from the sushi bar while sitting at Kona, which makes for a nice mix and match. I think it's become our favorite non-signature restaurant in WDW. We've eaten there four times (3 dinners and 1 breakfast), and it has always been good.

We are trying Kona for dinner for the first time this may..can't wait!!

It's funny, someone mentioned not to get the almond/coconut crusted chicken. This was SO good when DH & I had lunch there!

I may try the sushi...And I love me some Lapu Lapu's!!

We loved the Kona Cafe. Had both steaks and they were both good. The bread is excellent. My daughter loved her ice cream cone with the cotton candy, I had a chocolate dessert that was wonderful and my husband had some sort of apple torte that was good.

We made reservations here. I'm looking forward to it the most out of all our ADRs. :goodvibes

we went to Kona a few years ago and had a lovely meal! the service was fine and the atmosphere was pleasant. since then we've went to O'hana but i think i prefer Kona Cafe! :goodvibes

DO IT!!! Ate there a couple of years ago and it was one of the best meals during our trip. We all tried something different and each enjoyed our meals. Staff was great and the desserts are delish!!! Going again last week of March for dinner and have ADR for breakfast one day also. Have got to try the TONGA TOAST everyone keeps talking about!! Seriously, I really think you will be glad you try it. ENJOY!!!:thumbsup2
