How crowded is breakfast? Is an ADR necessary?

I used to say no. But having had to wait almost 40 minutes last Sunday, I'd now say yes. Unless you are there maybe from opening to 1/2 hour later, I still think you'd be ok without reservations. But at 9:00 (when we decided to eat) I sure wish we'd had them.

I was thinking about going around opening. They open at 7:30, and I'm one of those people who am always up and ready to go very early, and end up waiting for the parks to open every morning, so I thought this might be nice to do on one of my MK mornings.

I've never eaten there before but my opinion is why not? Better to have one and not need it than take a chance, even if you plan on being there at opening. If there's a place that I KNOW I want to eat at, I'm not taking any chances!

I would make an ADR just in case. I was there last September and while it wasn't busy I was glad we had an ADR. The food there is so yummy no matter what time of day you go.

I agree with those who say make an ADR just to be safe. Enjoy your breakfast.

We go there almost every time we're at Disney for the Tonga Toast. We never used to have reservations but 2 years ago we had to wait nearly an hour to be seated. Last year we had ADR and was certainly glad because there were many people waiting. We have made our ADR for October.

Deffinately necessary unless you want to wait quite a while. It has become extremely popular. And it is one of our fav's!!

Has anyone found that it's faster to eat at Kona Cafe than it is at Captain Cook's?

We always went to Captain Cook's for breakfast since Tonga Toast is there too, but it would always take us upwards of an hour to get out because of the register lines.

To be safe (and less stressed), since we're staying at the Polynesian next time, we booked at Kona Cafe for breakfast almost every day instead of choosing to eat at Captain Cook's. We're crossing our fingers that it'll be faster and less stressful.
