My family is already planning a 2009 trip (our trip this year was that good, we wanna go back now!), and we decided that we would try a new place to eat, and I was looking on allearsnet.com, and I was looking at the Kona Cafe with my mom and dad. We all fell in love with it, just from the menu alone! I've heard some good things about the coffee & Tonga Toast. Besides that, how does it rank among other restaurants. Good/bad/so-so/what?

Kona Cafe is one of my family's all-time favorite WDW restaurants. It's a must-do for us every year. Our favorite meal there is dinner, but breakfast is fantastic and so is lunch. Go for it, it is wonderful.

We had dinner at Kona during our last trip. It was great! I have alot of pics in my dining report. The steaks were wonderful.

My DH and I have eaten at Kona Cafe for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they are all great! :thumbsup2 You can't go wrong there.

Kona is wonderful. We were there last trip & truly enjoyed the food. The sticky wings and steaks are so delicious!

Kona is my all-time favourite restaurant in WDW. I have eaten at Kona Cafe for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they are all great! Go for it, it is really wonderful restaurant. Where u can have a delicious food.:wizard:

I've had dinner at Kona and loved it. The food was great and the service was terrific. It is not the most themed restaurant at Disney, but it is an enjoyable meal.
We will return.

Great restaurant. Nice open-air atmosphere. Food is really good there. Better than 'Ohana. Although 'Ohana is my all-time favorite due to it's extremely high "fun factor".

We've eaten there for breakfast & dinner and loved them both

The Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes are to die for :goodvibes

Kona was our last day breakfast in May. We missed our Chef Mickey ADR, so we chose Kona. It was okay in my opinion. It was more like regular diner fare breakfast that we have gotten at home. Although the food was good, it just lacked something the other restaurants had that made it less appealing to me. I'm glad we tried it once. We might give their dinner a shot.

will there be a problem eating at KONA without reservations, for dinner?
We usually just walk in for breakfast (BEST breakfast on property, IMHO!).

We have eaten there twice for dinner and once for breakfast. Our first dinner (about 5 years ago) was the best meal we had on the trip! We went back for dinner in June and our experience was slightly on the disappointing side. Food was average and the service was incredibly slow. It wasn't bad and I would go back again, but it wasn't nearly as good as before. We also went for breakfast during our June trip, and enjoyed it. I finally got to try the tonga toast, and loved it!

As far as going in without a reservation, we had an ADR for both breakfast and dinner and still had to wait about 15 minutes after our time to get seated. I think it might be tough without an ADR, unless it was a slow time of year.
