How is dinner here? How is the food? What about the service?

We've eaten there 3 times in the last year and 1/2 ... I always get the steak. We really love it there. The desserts are awesome!!! The only thing that kinda bothers me is the noise from the lobby area. It gets rather loud.

But the service has always been good, food has been very good!! :thumbsup2 Going back in 3 weeks!!! :Pinkbounc

Food here is very good. We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was once again yummy. :thumbsup2 My DH always gets the prime rib and each time it is delicious. I try to get something different each time. This past trip I got a couple of appetizers...the Sticky Wings(without the mustard drizzle) and Caesar Salad. Both were very yummy. I have also gotten the Filet MIgnon and it was also good (the 5-spice sauce was a little too spicy for me, but still very yummy) and I have also gotten the Asian Noodle Bowl with Chicken...again very good. But my FAV thing is the White Chocolate Cheesecake!! YUMMO
Service has always been good for us. We have never had to wait to be seated. We do have really early dining times though for dinner, so the restaurants are almost empty when we eat dinner. (5:00 to 5:30 pm)
It starts to pick up quite a bit though by the time we are leaving. The lobby wasn't too loud on our past trips but sometimes it can get a bit louder due to O'Hana's right next door.

Kona Cafe is one of my all time favorite WDW places to eat. I enjoy sitting in the back away from the hustle of the lobby and feel that it is worth the wait for a table there. My DH always gets the macadamia Mahi-Mahi and I really enjoy the filet mignon (much better than Le Cellier's) The dessert I got the last time was the Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tart, which was to die for. It came with a scoop of vaniella ice cream and I still dream about it.

We had dinner there last month and it was excellent! The food was very good, the desserts wonderful and the service was stellar.

Have I read sonewhere that Konas is not open for Dinner on Sunday nights??

We went to Kona's for dinner the first night. ADR for 6:30PM.
Everything was wonderful - had the steak + citrus salad + cheesecake.
Wouldn't hesitate eating there again! :thumbsup2

I ate dinner at Kona on our arrival night in April for the first time. It was delicious. Service was great and I thought the ambience was good. It is now on my "Must Do" list.

It was one of our best eating experiences at WDW. The service was very good. In fact the chef came round to talk to the guests while they were eating, asking them if they were enjoying their food. I thought that was a nice touch.

Thanks for the reviews. I currently have an ADR @ 1900, but alot of what is offered, I won't eat. Looks like Kona's got a good menu.

Anyone know how early they open for dinner?

i took DexBF there for his birthday in may and really enjoyed it. i remember i was least impressed with my entree, which was some sort of steak, it was a little bland. i remember liking our appetizer but i can't remember what we got  Dex loved his mahi-mahi entree. the torte dessert was FABULOUS:

Praying Colonel,

Your reviews were great and the pictures were wonderful. Looks like I need to get on the phone with Disney Dining and change that ADR.

Thanks again!!

The torte looks yummy!!! Thanks for the photo! Am on hold right now with Disney Dining (thank goodness for free weekends & long distance). Am going to try for an early ADR for dinner, so that way I can head straight to the Magic Kingdom from there and enjoy my last night at WDW!!

Thanks again everyone!!!

So I called and was told the restaurant opens for dinner at 5pm.

Ask for an ADR for a party of 1 and was told the earliest table for that party size was at 6:25pm.

Asked if the party size was to change to 2 people (as I may have someone joining me) and was told the earliest table for a party of that size was at 5pm.

I booked the 5pm table and I'm glad I did, but am confused as to what difference should it make if there is 1 person or 2 people?

Not Kona - they're busy every night of the week. We have an ADR on Sunday - just 2 weeks from tonight!
