Is Kona Cafe one or two ts credits? How's the food? Service? Is it very loud? Any feed back would help tremendously.

It's one TS credit. Always had good service there. I've only eaten breakfast there, and the Tonga Toast is excellent.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Kona Cafe. It is my favorite restaurant either in Disney, or anywhere for that matter. It is very comfortable, the food is fantastic, we had a great server, and I didn't think it was loud, but the few times I ate there it wasn't that crowded. I tried to make ADR for the end of September but it is totally booked out. Not sure why :confused3 .
Anyway, I highly recommend it. Two things to try, their mashed potatoes are the world's best, and their molten lava cake is to die for! Just order it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, you need something to neutralize the chocolate, and that is coming from a chocoholic!

We love the Kona Cafe. My husband had a steak and I had the chicken (it even came with a salad). It was great. This place is an often unsung treasure so let me sing its praises. LaLaLa

We just got back from our four night stay.... I am posting my dining reviews later, but I saw this post and had to comment.

The Kona Cafe was THE BEST MEAL and EXPERIENCE for our entire trip!

We loved the food, had terrific service, was not loud at all. Overall a terrific meal.

Please be on the lookout for details once I unpack and take a nap!

Another big thumbs up :thumbsup2 for Kona. We discovered KC the first time we had DDP (Jan. 05). It is now a must do on every trip! Try it....you'll like it!

My DD6 absolutely loves the sticky wings appetizer and when we are on the DDP I order them as my appetizer and she has them for her dinner (she leaves me a few too!) :goodvibes

We had dinner there last week. I was not impressed with the entree. The appetizers, drinks, and desserts were good, though. My husband and I both had the Mahi Mahi because we had heard it was very good and the server recommended it. I was disappointed. I guess I was anticipating a different taste, and the fish could have been cooked a bit more. I would skip it on my next vacation. We also had a breakfast ADR, but canceled. They wouldn't change our time to later and we were just too tired to try and get there from CSR by 8 am.

I live in Hawaii.

Never, NEVER, no matter what the server says, order Mahimahi outside of Hawaii or Mexico.

Is that because it has to ship too far?
I wish I had gone with my first choice of shrimp and scallops.

I am really looking forward to Konas. I do plan on ordering the shrimp and scallops. Yum.

I just had the Mahi-Mahi on Thursday and it was by far the best meal of the trip. Kona was an amazing meal. I thought it was a little noisy since Ohana is right next door, but not overly so.

We have enjoyed Kona for many years now. We did notice this trip that it gets pretty busy after 6pm much more than it did in the past. I will assume the dining plan contributes to this. Although they could expand their appetizer selection, the entrees are quite good.....my favorite the medallions of filet min. medium...oh god you can cut them with a fork. The dessert menu is also very good. We have found the service to either be mediocure or exceptional.

The lunch menu is somewhat limited on entree selection but the breakfast is very good.

On my last on-site trip,I loved the Tonga Toast so much that I had breakfast at KC twice!!

We just dined here last week, and as always, it was wonderful. I will do a more detailed report soon, but in general the sticky wings, Caesar salad, and steaks were all great. We were able to substitute sticky rice for DS's fries and my potatoes. :thumbsup2

We catch Mahi mahi in the Atlantic! It isn't just caught in Hawaii! LOL! My DH brought some back from his trip last week caught off the coast of Maryland and it was delicious! That said, the last two times I've eaten Mahi at Kona it was very fishy.

Could someone explain what exactly "sticky rice" is? How does it differ from plain white rice? TIA!

Kona was one of our favorite meals on our August trip. The only meal that surpassed it was the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I had the Mahimahi, and I really enjoyed it. It was not cooked "well" so I was happy with it. I don't like fish well done. I hope that someday I get to Hawaii so that I can compare it to a version cooked there.

Anyway, the steaks were good and very tender. My DS ordered the prime rib. He felt that part was overcooked, but he was so full he could not have finished that portion, so he did not want to send it back. The sticky wings were amazing, and the crab cakes were also very good.

I did not find that the place was noisy, but I had a 4 YO DGD and my 17 YO DS with me, so I would never hear anything over them. The service was impeccable.
