We are dining at Kona Cafe next month for lunch...I just looked at the menu and it is kind of boring. Dinner looks good but I already have all of my dinners set and I don't want to change them.

Have any of you eaten at Kona for lunch and liked it? I want to eat somewhere on the monorail because we are doing MK that day. I was thinking of changing to Grand Floridian Cafe.

You will find many who love Kona no matter what, but I have to say that if the menu doesn't appeal to you - avoid it.

Opinions are awesome and everybody shares their love in a sincere effort to help. However, not everyones taste is the same.

I had this happen to me with a few places. I wasn't sure about the menu, but was persuaded to give them a try because of the huge love from many here on the Dis. Generally those places were my greatest disappointments. (Two exceptions were Jiko and V&A - those menus intimated me with their adventurousness)

I've heard very good things about the GF cafe and if that menu appeals to you more, I'd suggest you try them for lunch. :goodvibes

Kona Cafe is excellent for lunch but so is GF Cafe. I wouldn't call Kona's menu boring though. It is the more unusual of the two IMO. I wonder if the menu you saw is complete.:confused3 Many times the online menus are not.

Anyway, both are great spots for lunch. Bon apetit whichever you decide.

We really liked Kona for lunch and thought they had a great menu. I haven't eaten lunch at GFC yet though so I can't compare it!

I agree with a PP who said if it doesn't appeal to you, you may want to avoid it. The lunch menu didn't appeal to me either but I'd read so many good posts about Kona that I decided to try it anyway. I asked the server what was good/popular and found my entree to be nothing spectacular, and ended up disappointed.

Only you can decide for yourself...

I love Kona for lunch their steak terriyaki salad but I agree with the fellow disser who said if the menu doesn't appeal to you that should be the deal breaker. I do like that Kona is quiet around lunchtime but I also like The Grand Floridian Cafe so I don't think you can go wrong! Can't wait to hear what you decide.

we are thinking about trying the wave at the contemporary because we have never been there. I just called disney dining and I checked to see if by some strange chance they had Le Cellier for lunch that day and low and behold they did. It's not til 2:45 but I took it. We are staying at the boardwalk so I figured we could stay at MK all morning and then head over to Epcot for lunch and then go back to the hotel to rest up before our dinner at Cali Grille.

I would take lunch at LeCellier ANY day over lunch at Kona. Good choice IMO!
