On December 28th my family is switching from the Pop Century to the Hard Rock Hotel in Universal Studios. We're making that morning very liesurely, and just this morning I thought it might be nice to have a late brunch at a disney resort restaurant.

I searched the online reservation system and found the perfect Kona Cafe ressie at 11:10! However, my family was wondering what would be the simplest way to go about it, since we will have just checked out of the Pop before arriving at the Poly.

Should we leave our bags at the Pop, take disney transportation to the Poly, then come back for them, and then travel to the HRH?
Should we take a cab from the Pop to the Poly with our bags, leave our bags with the Poly, and then travel directly from there to the HRH?
Should we not do the ADR at all because it would be too complicated?
:confused3

All you ADR pros, which one of these scenarios would be best?
Or, feel free to suggest a new scenario altogether!
Thanks in advance for all your expertise!

I doubt the Poly would watch your bags if you weren't actually staying there.

We faced a similar issue during our trip, and I was voted down in the following other option: take stuff, check into hotel at Universal, then drive on back and have Disney meal. Hubby thought that would be annoying (I felt it would cut down on tips to Bell Services, and that it would have done!), but I really liked the idea.

Of course if you have a rental car with nicely tinted windows (we had a rental car with entirely clear windows) and you trust your luck, you could leave your stuff in the car while parked at Poly...we never did that, b/c my luck with theft tends to be bad and, again, entirely clear windows so everyone could see everything we might have left in the car.

Hubby also thought that we could leave stuff in the car and use Valet (we have the Tables in Wonderland card, and get free Valet parking when dining), figuring it would be more secure...but the Valet lot is just more secure against people *driving* into the area...anyone could walk sneakily in there and smash and grab if quick about it, and I even if the person were caught while attempting to leave the lot, I wouldn't want ot have to deal with the insurance and the rental car place (we don't get the extra insurance).

I guess I'm not coming up with anything definitive here. But you're not alone in the quandary of figuring out the best way to do things...

How are you getting to Universal? That would make a difference in my advice

I believe we are taking a taxi, since we had a good experience with moving from the CR to our timeshare in February.

I don't know much about the Mears shuttle, but I hear it's a good option as well. Would it be more practical than a taxi?
