Kohl's return by UPS

If you order online and need to return, do you pay if you return by UPS? Or the sticker in the package that goes on front...does that mean shipping back is free? My DD just returned to Kohl's via UPS and the store stuck the sticker inside the package and put their own on and charged her $12 to ship. I, myself, only return to the store so I am not sure how it works.

The return policy on Kohl's website says they do not pay for return shipping. This only applies to online purchases as all in store purchases can only be returned to a store.

And my guess (yes just a guess) is online orders can be returned to a store.

Yep. She was too lazy. And she used a gift card we gave her for Xmas. Threw away said gift card. I assume the refund will go back on the gift card? Now it's gone so!?!?!?!?
