I have just discovered Kohls and really like their percent-off plus get-Kohls-cash buys. There is one coming up this week, and I am wondering, do the Kohls cares things count toward the $50 for Kohls cash? I know you can't use Kohls cash to buy them, but does buying them get you Kohls cash? (i hope this makes sense . . .).

Yes, it makes sense. And it usually doesn't count towards the purchase (look at the small print at the bottom of the flier and it should say whether it does or not.) However, I looked online and all it says is "Eligible customer purchases include sale-, regular- and clearance-priced merchandise, but exclude the purchase of Gift Cards."

Thanks! I hadn't opened the mailer but I just read the fine print and it seems that the Kohls cares things are not excluded from counting towards the $50.

I just opened a Kohls charge after Christmas. First new credit card in about ten years but the discounts seem like they are worth it.

No, the books do not count towards anything. If you have a coupon, discount is not taken on the Kohl's Cares items. It doesn't go toward the $50 Kohl's cash either.
We love Kohl's. My wife's favorite store.
The books are such a great deal at only $5.

Any tips for a new Kohls discount-seeking shopper?

If you shop on Kohl's website, you can stack two discount codes - but not two % off codes. So for example you could use a 30% off code & a free shipping code together.

Are you sure it doesn't count towards the $50? Just asking because the ad I have says the only exclusion is gift cards. "Customer will receive $10 in Kohl's cash for every $50 spent in a single transaction. Kohl's cash coupons can be earned on sale-, regular-, and clearance-priced merchandise, but excludes the purchase of Gift cards."

I can confirm that the discount doesn't come off the items, but I am pretty sure they do count towards the purchase to get Kohls cash. Not positive though.
