Kohls did well for me today...or so I thought.

I had a 30% off coupon, and $10 in Kohl's Cash. Then I got a free shipping code from RetailMeNot. Putting it all together, I was able to get DD's Hanukkah present from my Mom, originally $99.99, for just under $60 with free shipping!

Of course, now I see that Amazon has it for $47.50...sigh...well, there ya go. :confused3

Can you retrn it in store?
We double check Amazon for almost everything. We are Prime members and we easily save more than the cost of the membership each year in the lower prices we can find there, never mind the free two day shipping.

I can probably still cancel the order.

EDITED TO ADD: No, I can't...I will have to wait till it comes and then head over. At least there's one nearby.

When I view this it says no longer available and the price was $89

And I'm pretty sure you'll lose your Kohl's cash too when you return it. I've never had them give it back to me when I returned something.

Kohls seems to be high on toys. I don't seem to do well even with coupons for toys. Anyone else??

If you take store credit for the Kohl's cash purchase, you get to keep it.

That's true! :)

I don't really buy toys from Kohl's either. They seem to be cheaper on Amazon (yet they seem to have coupons from time to time).

Not anymore. That has recently changed.

How is Amazon's return policy? That is one thing I like about Kohls, above JCP or Target. You can return anything. No time limit either.

Amazon has a great return policy - if you go through their website to return something you can get a free label printed. They ask why you want to return it but I've never been refused (I haven't done it much, granted!)

I'm just going to keep the castle. My Mom will be sending me $100 for each of my children for Hanukkah, so I'm still ahead of the game. I can get some dolls or furniture to go with it, and then put a bit in her bank account. ;)

By the way, I do have Amazon Prime and I got it for half price as a student. It's definitely already paid off! :thumbsup2

It's best to shop around before making a toy purchase at Kohls, but many times we find stacking a toy sale, 30% off coupon, and Kohls cash to be the best way to buy the item.

One piece of advice, we used to buy Christmas gifts heavy in October/early November, but found that every single thing bought around this time of year was cheaper closer to Christmas. We now wait until Black Friday.

I know everyone says how great Kohl's is but I think they are overpriced. And this just exemplifies that.

I would just order it from Amazon and return it to Kohls. You will lose your Kohls cash but will still get it cheaper from Amazon if you paid right at $60 at Kohls.

If it were me, I'd just chalk it up to a lesson learned and be glad I was done shopping for that person. I would not go through all the hassel of ordering now from Amazon and returning the one you bought to Kohl's. That's just me...maybe you go to Kohls all the time or it's not a big deal to stop over there. My time is more valuable to me to drive 5 miles there and back for $13 savings.
