I had gotten some stuff on BF from Kohls and earned Kohl's Cash. I did spend it. I spent just over $100 and got $30 in Kohls Cash

Now something I got needs to be returned (not exchanged, a full return), how will that work? It was $44?

I looked on the website but it does not explain it well.

TIA!

I'm pretty sure you'll lose the $ amount of the difference- meaning a return minus the $15. But that's assuming it's on your card.

When you return the item, ask for the value of it to be put on a Kohl's gift card. I did this last year and was able to keep my Kohl's cash.

Exactly. If you take a Kohl's merchandise credit you will get the full amount you paid for the item. If you opt not to do that they will only refund you the purchase price minus the value of the Kohl's cash on your original source of payment.

Take the merchandise credit!

I don't understand that logic. I would think when the OP goes to return the item her receipt will show how much Kohls cash she received/spent and her refund will reflect that, no matter if she got a merchandise credit or cash back. She's not entitled to a full refund or merchandise credit.

This has been my experience as well. Take the credit! I think they do that so you will spend more money there lol. Then use the credit when they have the % off coupons that do not have to be put on your Kohls charge to use.

If you take the merchandise credit Kohl's is not "loosing" the money they gave you with Kohls Cash. If you take the cash they are now out that money.

Also, what is to stop someone from buying $200 worth of stuff, getting $40 in KC then returning the original item(s). They just got $40 for free and Kohl's loses $40.

This exact scenario just happened to me. I returned 3 pairs of pants at $84 total that got me $30 Kohl's cash along with the rest of my initial purchase. My options were a refund to my cc of $54 plus tax ($84 - $30 Kohl's cash) OR a merchandise credit of $69 plus tax ($84 - $15 Kohl's cash). The $84 on the pants put me at $30 Kohl's cash, so returning them would mean I was entitled to only $15 Kohl's cash. I took the credit.

They should be willing to give you a merchandise credit. The one I got didn't look like a regular gift card - instead of plastic it was just heavy cardboard. If you want cash or to have it put back on your credit card (including your Kohls card) they will deduct the Kohls cash from the refund.

Also, my Kohls will let you use expired Kohls cash too.

I returned an item today that I bought on BF for $19.99 less the 15% discount. My choices were to get back $2 and some change due to the $15 Kohl's Cash that I already spent, or to have the amount of the purchase given to me on a Kohl's gift card. I opted for the gift card -- of course.
