I'm having a hard time deciding among three officiants. What sets one apart from the other?

I chose Kevin Knox because he was recommended by Disney and I couldn't really tell the difference between them. I had no issues with him. He was on time, had good communication (I mostly talked with his wife Teresa), and was helpful on the wedding day. The DH said he told him exactly what to do. I don't regret our choice at all!

We are going with Herring. We met him in December at our PS and we really liked him. I sort of picked him b/c of past brides reviews of him. He is funny and seemed like he wants to make the day special for us. We are not looking for an ultra-religious/serious ceremony and we don't mind humor added in.
I would search the forum and see what other brides have said in the past!
Good Luck!

I chose Knox, or more specifically, his wife. My fiance and I are not religious and they offer a completely civil ceremony. Also, I'm all about girl power so I thought it was really cool I could have a female officiant. :) I've read very good things about Kevin and Teresa on the Boards and Teresa has been really professional and helpful thus far in the planning process.

We chose Rev. Kevin Knox and could not have been more pleased. He was extremely professional, but also very lighthearted and fun. We were able to customize our ceremony from his planning kit, and it was no problem to remove specific lines, etc. We loved his "Blessing of the Hands." We talked through the ceremony with him over the phone a couple days before, but on the day of he put us completely at ease. I would definitely recommend him, or his wonderful wife Teresa.

We had Tim Herring and LOVED him. We had met him about a year before our wedding while we were there checking out the inside of the wedding pavilion. He was there for a rehearsal and we totally hit it off with him and from that point we knew and booked him. He has a nice voice and did a really sweet ceremony.

I ended up securing Rev Tim. I want a traditional ceremony and he does a version of a Catholic ceremony. Thanks!

I had a huge dilemma picking between the 3.

I initially booked Herring but heard some negative reviews of him that really concerned me. So, I switched to Day. Jack Day is the SWEETEST man ever. He was so attentive and truly seemed to care about my day.

The entire year we were planning I was really afraid he wouldn't be able to perform our ceremony (he is an older man). Turns out, I was right. 6 days before my wedding he called me and told me he was too ill to do it. He told me he was putting us with Rev. Tim Herring. I was really upset. The whole point of going to Day was to not be with Herring.

Neverthless, the day rolled around and we ADORED Herring. He was very professional, kind, and did a great job. My one complaint: because of the late change, he hadn't been paid. After our ceremony he called us over and asked about his "fee" which I felt was very inappropriate considering the circumstance and the fact that my planner was standing right there. She was the person he should've asked considering we had literally just said "I Do" 5 minutes ago and were preparing for our exit.

On the whole, I did like Herring and I do like Day. I've also seen, firsthand, a ceremony done by Teresa Knox who was also very good.

You honestly can't go wrong.

We also had Rev Tim and we absolutely loved him. I was concerned that because our ceremony was 'just' a vow renewal, he may not take it as seriously as he may take a wedding. In fact, he was brilliant and told us he loves to do VRs and really respects the fact that couples are strong enough, after x number of years, to come back and re-affirm their commitments to each other. He genuinely seemed to enjoy celebrating with us, and made a marvellous job in including our children in the ceremony. Our guests were impressed with him and we adored him.
One word of advice - if you go with Rev Tim, do not be put off by his communication skills. He is not a confident emailer, but will take on board all your requests and suggestions for your day, and, in my opinion, do you an amazing ceremony. He certainly made our ceremony very special!!!! An all round lovely man.

We had Rev Tim Herring and absolutely loved him. He did a great job with our ceremony and we were very comfortable with him. He met us before our PS and we talked through what we wanted for our ceremony and he handled it perfectly.

PP - I know it was last minute, but from his perspective, was he supposed to just hope he got paid? He's been working with DFTW since the beginning. I'm sure he's been burned a time or two not getting paid. He performed a service, and expected payment for it. Since Disney doesn't arrange an officiant, why would your planner have gotten involved in that? It's not like she could send you a bill for him later. When were you planning on paying your original officiant?

Wow, all the comments here make me really glad I have booked with Rev. Herring already!

I chose him because I liked what he had to say on his website and that it made him seem like he was very flexible and wouldn't make us feel weird if we didn't want a religious ceremony since neither of us are religious.

The fact that something about his looks remind me of my father also made him my top choice - he already felt familiar.
