I have been comparing Knotts Scary Farm Park in California to our Halloween event in Florida, and they are basicaly the same. Even though I truly Believe Knotts Scary Farm Haunt is the greatest Halloween event in the world. Its so good (even though Universal wont admit it) it forsed Universal Hallywood to pack up and not do their Halloween event in fear of embarisment. The Diffrence between the two is simple Universal has 5 mazes every year, while Knotts have 8 mazes every year. he other big diffrence is that Kotts also has some roller coasters to ride during Halloween like one of the top wood coasters in the world in Ghost Rider, while Universal only had JP as a thrill ride while the Florida park has no thrill rides. They both have almost the same shows to Universal has of course the famous Bill and Ted Show, while Knotts has the famous Hanging show staring the Crypt Keeper. In the Hanging famous pop culture characters from TV, Music, and Movies do a comic monolagy and enteract with other characters then they are killed in a funny death scene. And I did not even mention that the real life Elvira host the event each year and has her own variety show during the event. All what Universal will have is a magic show. But I rather have Jack as our host over Elvira. When Jack walked around the park last year he was treated as a celeberty and almost everyone wanted to say hi or get their picture with him. And just so you know Knotts Scary Farm Haunt event has been around for 20 somthing years. Thats overwhelming compared to the Orlando event of 11 years and the know desesed Hallywood event of 4 years. Also Knotts employs over 1,200 scaracters for every event. Universal employs about enough as it takes to fill up the Beatlejuice theater. I know this from Horror Night Orentation.

But to Sum it all up Knotts is the best Halloween Event in the West, While Universal is the best in the East.

I was at a HH Night at Universal in Hollywood last year and it was sold out and packed with people. Are you sure they cancelled it for this year?

Last year, I went to HHN Hollywood and Knott's Scary Farm. I have to admit, Knott's Scary Farm was alot bigger and more elaborate than HHN Hollywood, but Knott's has been doing this for ovef 25 years--they're experts and they already built a fan following.

HHN Hollywood was only in its 4th season. I hope they didn't cancel it this year, but I tried looking for tickets on Ticketmaster and they aren't giving any info. They did have alot of people last year, but it was no where near the size of HHN Orlando.

I hope they didn't cancel it this year, because I was going to see that again this year along with the Haunt. They were 2 very different events, but that's a good thing.

I would think that if they did cancel it this year, it was more for buget reasons. Disney's California Adventure and Universal Studios Hollywood had to cut out some of their shows and cut down on hours and had layoffs due to the slow economy and the reduction in travel among families this year.

However, there were more locals at HHN Hollywood than tourists. Maybe they were getting tired of being compared to Knott's. They did only have rides and mazes and the mazes had lines averaging 45 minutes each. They were good mazes, but the lines were huge and Jurassic Park, Terminator, and Back to the Future were the only rides operating.
