Trying to decide what else to do while in California - mid October. What is Knotts Berry Farms like? Would 2 adults enjoy it? Or is it lame compared to Disneyland?
The famous Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant is outside of the park, in the free dining/shopping area that also has 3 hours free parking. This area is worth checking out at least. I haven't tried their wooden rollercoaster, but it does look like the real deal. Last time I was in the park I enjoyed Mystery Lodge, which is a descendant of a show that was a big hit at the Vancouver World's Fair.
I went there in 96 and rather enjoyed it- and I'm going to go back this May (I need a high speed coaster fix...)
Its not disney but still a fun place to spend the day

Mid-October is a great time to visit too. Less crowded. Knotts Berry Farm is a different pace than DL. If you have a coupon to get in, it would be even worth it because Knott's is affordable to begin with....at least for a theme park.
Yeah I think that Knott's is great. I was brought up in Las Vegas and went to DL and Knott's every year. Some of my family liked Knott's better, some liked DL better, but we never went to one without the other.
The wooden rollercoaster is great! And yes, for 2 adults, if you like thrill rides, you would like Knott's. I am not too thrilled about thrill rides, and I still like it...I LOVE Mrs. Knott's fried chicken dinner restaurant, for dinner, and especially breakfast! (Knott's Berry Farm invented the Boysenberry and have the BEST boysenberry syrup!)
Kids like Knott's Berry farm too!
As everyone has said, if you like ROLLER COASTERs you will like Knotts. We enjoy the quietness of the park compared to DL. The chicken dinner is not the same as it has been in the past, however it still a good value. If you enjoy movies, you may also want to look into Universal. Have fun.
Just a note: But Knotts is usually gearing up for it's big Halloween Haunt in October so you might want to check the dates before you make plans. It's fun but it's very popular and sells out quickly.
In October the park usually closes early like around 6-ish if I remember correctly, so they can reopen the park for Halloween Haunt, which is a special ticketed event that's a blast if you like to be scared! I'd check Knott's hours b4 you decide if you want to include it in your trip. If you decide that Halloween Haunt is something you're intrested in, then buy your tickets as soon as you can, because they sell out every year.

you get 3 day Disney Park Hopper pass, one day admission to Knotts, one day admission to Sea World & one day to either the San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal Park .......all for $185.00. This save alot of $$ if you were going to buy each ticket individually.
