Knott's Berry Farm worth it?

We are planning an extended trip to Southern California in August/September. At the end we will stay about 3 1/2 days in Anaheim. The plan is to spend one day each at Disneyland and California Adventure but I am unsure whether we should use the third day for Knott's Berry Farm or not. I am not a roller coaster fan (Big Thunder is about as wild as I get) and the boys (10 and 7) are definitely not into wild rides. It seems that most of the rides at Knott's would be out. Also, at least the 10 year old might be a bit big for Camp Snoopy?

Is there enough stuff to do (shows/ tame rides/ etc.) to make it worth spending a day there or should we choose something else?

The only reason I would recommend Knott's is if you guys were thrill-seekers that wanted to ride some bigger coasters that aren't available at Disney. Since you're not, then I don't think it's worth it, as Camp Snoopy is very small and the other rides they might be interested in take up an hour or so tops. Knott's is kind of dirty and definitely not as "magical" as Disneyland. If you're in Anaheim for three days, it's an absolute no-brainer to me that I would get a three-day hopper and enjoy three full days at Disneyland. I see from your signature that you've been to WDW a few times before. A very common mistake of WDW vets is assuming that Disneyland is smaller and therefore won't take long to see. The truth is, in physical area, yes, the two parks here in California are smaller, but they have almost as many attractions as all four of WDW's parks combined. Many make the mistake of not allotting enough time. Would you plan a trip to WDW and plan to see everything in just two days? Three days is the minimum that we typically recommend on these boards for a Disneyland Resort vacation, and many prefer more, but since you're not into the coasters, you can get away with three.

Thanks, sonnyjane. The reason we are only planning two days at Disneyland is that I was planning to use two left-over one day passes from WDW (I read somewhere that those can be used at Disneyland and hope that is still true). So we would have to buy an extra day to go three days and I assume single days are still the most expensive option. I guess we would spring for an extra day if we really feel it is absolutely necessary but I do tend to think we can make do with two days (though more would of course be nicer). However, if Knott's Berry Farm isn't really worth it we might choose something else. Is Knott's Soak City nice?

I'm not a big KBF fan but since I am a veteran I go every year for free in Nov. That is really the only reason I go. It's just OK in my book.

I was talking with my son a while ago and we came up with this.
Magic Mtn. has some great coasters but could care less about theming.
KBF tries to theme but fails miserably.
DL is really magical in bot theming and rides.

We love Knotts and always plan a day or two there. We have two girls 9 and 13 that both love big coasters. While there are some good non-thrill attractions it wouldn't be enough to be worth it for a day from what you've said.

Maybe spend a day at Universal Studios? Its about 40 miles to the north and worth a full day. Seaworlds 95 miles to the south and excellent but too long of a drive without changing hotels.

it's really up to you if you want to experience a different park or to say you have gone.
My two boys are thrill seekers and actually love Knotts over Disney any day. we have done Ca. Disney and WDW and we do have fun but it's just preference.

I enjoy the evenings in the old ghost town where it's quiet with the smell of the foods and all the things to see away from the rides after a day in lines. It's your trip sometimes you have to take a chance.....;)

We really liked Knotts. There are a lot of "Family" rides and shows. We had alot of fun. Another option is Universal Studios. We liked that as well.
i suggest you check out their websites and see if the rides and attractions interest your family.

I have nothing to say about Knotts, but you ought to search the Disneyland board about using the WDW tickets there. It sounds like they have recently stopped accepting them. A search will provide the most recent updates.

Sorry!
