Knock-off Uggs?

I bought black BearPaws for me at TJ Maxx for $30. and brown for my DD 8, hers were $40. We both love them! and for warmth, if I keep them on in the house for to long, my feet are HOT!! They do run a little small. I wear a 9 and I had to get a 10 and we wear them sans socks. They are a great option to spending the money on the real thing, especially for the kids

Anyone try the Land's End ones? I saw them in the recent catalog and they look pretty nice and I know Land's End items are pretty good quality.

For those looking for the Bearpaws, Famous Footwear has them.

as far as getting the bearpaws wet last winter my sister and I sprayed ours with waterproofing stuff and it worked well. My boots made it through the nasty snowy WI winter pretty much looking new aside from a little dirt since where I worked had a dirty gravel parking lot with all that slushy melty snow. hth:goodvibes

Hello DIS'ers!

No matter what shoes I wear at work, my feet freeze (and it's only October!). I sit near a window, and the concrete flooring under the carpeting stays very cold.

Anyone know where I can get a pair of fake Ugg boots? I'm too cheap to pay $150-$200 for the real ones. Problem is, I don't want fake materials. I want the real shearling sheepskin lining, and genuine suede outers. Fake stuff makes my feet sweat (and stink).

I saw some "BearPaws" on Overstock.com, but I'm hesitant to order them without trying a pair on. I remember that Sam's Club had nice knock-offs last year, but I didn't see them there this year.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

I work at a store that sells Bearpaws. From what we've been told, the Bearpaws are actually designed by the same person who originally created the Uggs. They are sheepskin lined just like the Uggs. We sell a lot of them. Many repeat customers. And while many people have said that teens only want the name brand Uggs, I've talked to so many teens who love the Bearpaws and are happy that they can usually get 2-3 pairs for the price of one pair of Uggs. They even say they are the same, except for the name, so they are happy with them. (And we do sell the water repellant spray, which we highly recommend to anyone buy them.)

Thanks for the heads up! I looked on finishline--I hope these $19.98 emus http://www.finishline.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?productId=prod620763&Ntt=emu&Ntk=all&isSearch=true&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&y=11&Ns=P_SalePrice|1&N=0&x=20
are a girl's 4 and not a toddler 4? They're listed under "preschool" but from what I remember a toddler 4 would be really tiny...If so I'll get a pair for DD--she's 10 and they'll be a good fit, but as an adult she's going to end up wearing an 8.5 like me...Iluvthemouse, I always wish I could wear kids' sizes, some of the styles are so much cuter than adult styles.

I'll have to make a Macy's or Costco trip--I never realized that the main reason for these was warmth and comfort, add me to the always freezing feet list! When I see people going around in mules in winter I think that they're crazy, or they must have very different feet from mine.

And what has people's experience been with this kind of boot and water? That's the main reason I haven't bought them--I can't seem to keep my feet out of wet spots in winter and they look as if puddles, rain, snow etc might ruin them. I was thinking that I could only wear them on dry fall/winter days?

I think that those are the itty bitty oens, if you notice the sizing goes only up to a 13. Good luck!

Don't laugh, but I've run mine through the wash a few times, with no ill effects.

Just don't dry them. I mean, sheep can get wet, right?

If sheep could make it through a tumble dryer I'd do that, too...

Thanks for the opinions everyone. :) On my way home from work today, I stopped at Marshall's. They had 8" Bear Paws for only $39.99 (black and brown colors). They also had another brand for only $29.99, but I think the inside fleece on those was artificial, so I went with the Bear Paws (which have real sheep shearling). They have brown shearling inside instead of white...I would have rather had white though.

I'm wearing them around the house right now, but they seem kind of tight on my calves, and the back part (above the heel) seems stiff. I hope they loosen up and soften up. I think I'll wear them around the house for a day or two before wearing them outside, in case I have to return them.

I seriously considered springing for the $130 Uggs, but I can't seem to justify that cost.

Oh, and Marshalls had some absolutely adorable Uggs ankle boots (the real Uggs) for $119. I can't remember the style name, but they had a hard sole and about a 1" stacked wood heel. They were still casual, but a lot dressier than the classic kind. They weren't really that comfortable though...just felt like a regular boot. Edit: I just remembered the style name. It was Mercer.

I've posted this on other Ugg threads...most women can wear youth sizes of Uggs and they are about $30 cheaper for a pair. The rule of thumb is to buy them two sizes down from your regular shoe size. I wear a women's size 7, so I can wear a girl's size 5. It's a great way to buy Uggs and save a little money!

Well....I wore my new Bearpaws all of yesterday evening, and I wore them to work today.

I love the warmth of them, and my feet didn't get cold at all today.

But....they are very stiff in the back, and I rubbed a sore spot on the back of both of my heels. (I have a sit down job, so this was just from walking into the building, and to the bathroom a few times.)

Now I'm wondering if I should have paid more and got a pair of real Uggs. For those of you who own the real thing, are they stiff in the back heel area?

I own Uggs and tried on a pair of bear paws and felt the same way about the fit. They were stiffer and just not a comfy as my Uggs. Had I bought the bear paws first and never owned Uggs, I probably would have been happy, but, since I knew how comfy my Uggs were, I couldnt buy the Bear Paws. Maybe after you wear them a bit they will soften up.

Wher is the 20% coupon, could you share?

I have a pair of Uggs brand I got for Christmas last year and love them. I noticed no stiffness in them, no sore spots on my feet. I just think they are so comfy. My feet are always cold and I swear regulate my body temp; if my feet are cold I'm cold if they are warm then I'm warm. I wasn't so sure a boot would keep my bare feet warm, they do. In fact sometimes I get so hot having them on. No sweating though and no odor, they're just perfect.

No, they're very soft. Seriously, it's like wearing slippers.

I've been looking around at different brands--saw the Bearpaws in TJMaxx, Skechers at Marshalls and the Kirkland knockoffs at Costco. The Costco ones look like the best for the price (real Australian sheepskin) and several people were trying them on. The box said to go for a snug fit because they stretch--the 8s (my usual size) were a little loose but the 7s were quite snug and I'm wondering how much they'll stretch? Has anyone here tried them?
