Knock-off Uggs?

Hello DIS'ers!

No matter what shoes I wear at work, my feet freeze (and it's only October!). I sit near a window, and the concrete flooring under the carpeting stays very cold.

Anyone know where I can get a pair of fake Ugg boots? I'm too cheap to pay $150-$200 for the real ones. Problem is, I don't want fake materials. I want the real shearling sheepskin lining, and genuine suede outers. Fake stuff makes my feet sweat (and stink).

I saw some "BearPaws" on Overstock.com, but I'm hesitant to order them without trying a pair on. I remember that Sam's Club had nice knock-offs last year, but I didn't see them there this year.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

I just got knock off Uggs at Costco - the tall boots, 100% shearling, for $35!!! They are actually more plush inside than the real Uggs I have, so I will be going back for more colors - they have light tan, saddle, chocolate and black.

Bummer, I don't have a Costco membership because the closest one is about an hour away. A friend of mine does have a membership though. Are yours the real sheep shearling fleece inside, or the synthetic fleece? It usually says on the tag. Thanks!

I have both tall and classic uggs. A few weeks ago I found a pair of bear paws at TJMAXX and tried them on and I have to say, I didnt like them as much. I was really disappointed b/c I had hears such good things about them and really wanted tall brown ones. I just didnt want to shell out the $$$ that uggs cost. But, I wasnt willing to pay even 1/2 cost for something that wasnt as comfortable.

If you're looking for the real UGGs you can go to zappos.com and get short ones for about $99. Those are the ones I have and I love them, especially for those Friday night football games. :thumbsup2

Well I am going to be the lone voice of support for Bearpaws. I love mine. I have a pair of those and a pair of Emus. Love the both. But if you want Uggs then go for it. BTW: Bearpaws are really not a knock off. Uggs are pretty much a type of boot in Australia. Sort of like we have running shoes, they call that particular type of boot Uggs. Emu is another company that makes that type of boot from Australia. I do love my Bearpaws and find the super comfy and warm.

the costco ones are real shearling and suede. Fantastic Boots. The bear paws are real, but not as floppy flexable. I would get the costco pair

I just ordered my daughter a pair of Emu's from qvc.com. A friend told me about them, her daughter wanted a pair last year. We got a tall black pair for around 60 with shipping. I did a search for the best price and qvc.com had it. They are real shearling and from Australia also.

FYI-

Uggs and Emu were once owned/desgined by the same people- all at Ugg. When they split, Emu was created. They are the same materials and craftsmanship.

also... Bear Paws are good too-a great choice if it saves some cash... although I don't know the history of the company.:rotfl:

I will second the person who said they loved their bearpaw boots!!! I lived in freezing cold WI last winter and my mom bought them as a Christmas present to me since she knew my feet were ALWAYS freezing. I found them to be very comfy and warm and my feet are always cold no matter what I do so the fact that these boots kept them warm has to say something for them. I love my bearpaws so much that I am considering getting them in a different color this year! hth I think its just preference. Some people like uggs and some people like bearpaw or other brands. Couldn't hurt to try. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for the advice. :)

After reading your opinions, I'm probably going to buy a pair of the Bearpaw boots. Zappos has them online, but I wouldn't mind trying them on "in person" instead. Does anyone know what stores sell that brand?

Don't know if you have them near you, but I was just at Big 5 yesterday and they carry BearPaws.

Keep an eye out at TJ Maxx, I bought real uggs for all my friends last year and they were 30 bucks each for the short and tall ones. Yes, they were the goofy colors (I'm wearing my yellow ones right now and most of my friends got orange or purple) but who cares, they're AWESOME!

I call them "My Street Legal Slippers"

Hello...tag fairy? c'mon!!!!!

That's what I needed to hear, as a Mom of a 13YO and an 11YO, both wanting some and wearing adult sizes :)

I got a pair of EMU's at Macys for $25.

Just picked up 2 more pairs at Finishline. I can wear a childrens 4 so they were $19.98 and $24.98 on the website.

Thanks for the heads up! I looked on finishline--I hope these $19.98 emus http://www.finishline.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?productId=prod620763&Ntt=emu&Ntk=all&isSearch=true&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&y=11&Ns=P_SalePrice|1&N=0&x=20
are a girl's 4 and not a toddler 4? They're listed under "preschool" but from what I remember a toddler 4 would be really tiny...If so I'll get a pair for DD--she's 10 and they'll be a good fit, but as an adult she's going to end up wearing an 8.5 like me...Iluvthemouse, I always wish I could wear kids' sizes, some of the styles are so much cuter than adult styles.

I'll have to make a Macy's or Costco trip--I never realized that the main reason for these was warmth and comfort, add me to the always freezing feet list! When I see people going around in mules in winter I think that they're crazy, or they must have very different feet from mine.

And what has people's experience been with this kind of boot and water? That's the main reason I haven't bought them--I can't seem to keep my feet out of wet spots in winter and they look as if puddles, rain, snow etc might ruin them. I was thinking that I could only wear them on dry fall/winter days?
