Knitting Help?

I just learned to knit and have made a couple hats so far. I have most of a ball of yarn and want to make scarves for the kids to match the hats. How wide or how many stitches should I make the scarf?

You could get by with between 16 to 25 cast on stitches depending on how large a needle size you are using. I did a fun fur scarf using 11 1/2" needles and cast on 20 stitches.

Thanks! I think I am using 14 ight now but my friend told me I am a "tight" knitter

I am going to try and make them little scarves to match the hats and I think they will be so cute!!!!!

Stick to the 14" needles if you are a tight knitter. Good luck.
