Hi everyone.... I've been lurking for a couple of days here and I'm glad I found a great Disney msg. board to help plan my first Fla trip in 8 yrs:eek: WAY TOO LONG...anyway, I want to go the first 2 weeks of dec. Since budget is a big consideration and I love to cook, I'm looking for a room with at least a kitchenette in it. The Knights Inn Maingate and Maingate East both have rooms w/kitchenettes in them and I was wondering if anyone has stayed at either one lately. I stayed 2 nts at Maingate in '94 for $50 a nt and now they're both $40 a nt. From the pics I can find the Maingate East looks nicer, but any info would be appreciated. If both are dumps, any info on budget rooms w/kitchens would be appreciated. This is my xmas gift to me and i'd like to go before Christmas. The only thing that would stop me is Spiderman being down for rehab:p I HAVE TO RIDE Spidey...It's a dealbreaker...no Spidey, no go;)

Cheers....Barry

Hi,

Welcome to the DIS, Barry.

No personal experience here with the Knights Inn.

I see you are going to be in Orlando for 2 weeks at the time of year when you should be able to get some good discounts on a l br condo.

Some posters have been quoted 55. nitely rate for a l br unit at Wyndham Palms thru www.closesttodisney.com

A condo would be a nicer option than a budget hotel for the length of time you will be there. (full kitchen) You might be able to get a better rate for l4 days.

Also, scroll down this page and you will find other posts on vacation homes/condos.

Check out the big thread on the new country inn and suites. They have some basic condo units there, too.

Spidey ride is way cool!:D :D

Don't try the Knight's Inn!! We stayed there about 5 yrs. ago, and checked out after 1 day! It was truly terrible! We just stayed this past week at the Comfort Inn LBV, about 1/2 mile from DD, it was clean, had a micro, refrig, and 2 pools! It was $35 (AAA) night. We enjoyed the motel, since we don't care where we usually stay, as we are RARELY there! :D
