KMart ~ $149 Net Book?

I think I'll put one on layaway for DS (and me ~ we can share) ~ any reviews? My former BIL and his wife have 2 on layaway for their girls and seem to think it's a good deal. I'll have to drive about 40 min. each way but that's alright ~ I don't mind the $5 lawaway fee, for a lesser price item it might bother me but this is ok. I'll make a Nov. payment when DD & I pass this store on our way to Disney on Ice mid month.

I don't know the details other than my kids uncles (who are computer savvy) think it's a good buy. Kmarts lawaway program is $5 from what I understand no matter how many items you place on layaway and I'm sure you could add items to your layaway account ~ you probably have to pay a certain amount per month. I think you need to put down 10%

Might be ~ the closer Kmart to me only got 2 in and they're gone. My FBIL ~ lives in the same state, in fact their store might be closer to me than this one is but they don't have any left either.

This sounds like a great price! My son is wanting a laptop for Christmas, and his concern with the netbook is that it's simply an Internet machine, rather than something that will run a word processor. Does anybody have info on this?

Hmm ~ not very kind reviews however, we aren't gamers (that's part of what ruined my marriage ~ they are not allowed in my house) we'd need it for the internet and that's about it.

It looks like Kmart has a Christmas Countdown contest going on and ads that are posted at the web site. I don't know if they differ from their regular ads but maybe the netbooks were part of their one day Christmas Countdown special.

We have the full Microsoft Office suite on ours. Runs perfectly. We did add the extra 1GB of memory though. Very easy to install yourself.

This is the one we have though. Not sure how it compares to the one Kmart has.
