Kitty name

I have a friend that just adopted a female, grey kitten. They can't decide what to name her, any suggestions. Her kids don't like the name "Smokey"

Oh! I saw a gray cat at the shelter once and when we'd decided to adopt her, someone else had gotten her. If I ever see another gray girl kitty again I'll give her the same name - Hester!

So my recommendation is Hester.

Years ago (decades, really), we adopted a tiny grey kitten. When we got her, she was pretty afraid of everyone, so she would often hide behind the sofa. When she got back there, she became pretty much invisible, so we called her Shadow.

Thanks for the replies so far. I was actually talking to her when I typed this. I gave her the names and she is keeping a list and will have a family vote tonight. Keep them coming if anyone has other suggestions.

A friend, who was a big civil war buff, named his gray kitty Mosby. Mosby was known as the "gray ghost." Seems the name could work for a female or male.
DD 11 says she would name her Misty.

I like Mosby and yes I think it would work for male or female, and really she comes up with strange names anyway so that wouldn't matter.

Love Misty but she won't use that, she had a Misty that died from old age about 7 years ago, she still isn't over that one yet. It kills her.

How about Stormy? I had a white cat named Snowy, and I always thought it would be cute to have cats with weather names - like Snowy and Stormy.

We have a female gray cat named Cloudy. Her siblings are named Thunder and Lightning, both black cats. We found them on a stormy evening, hence the weather names. Cloudy has a great, sunny, personality, despite her name.

We named our grey cat Dodge because he was the same color of my truck at the time. We then named his buddy Dakota just to keep the truck theme going.

Hi. when DD adopted a kitten for her sister for christmas,it came with the name "Peanut" we ended up calling her "Lucy" But we should of called her "Shadow" because she loves chasing shadows. So there a three names to choose from.

We had a kitten that DD named after a character on 'Little Bill'... Andrew. We called him Andrew too, not Andy!
