Our kitty "Ashley" is going to the "big city"( New Haven) to the Animal Hospital to be spayed. What can I expect when she comes home?

Our kitty was groggy for awhile(couldn't stand up straight) and smelled a little funny... he slept most of the day but he was fine once the stuff wore off :)

Good Luck Ashley :sunny:

Our 2 male cats had to stay overnight in the "hospital".
They were fine when they came home.
I believe it's a bit more involved for female cats.

sleepy kitty, mine slept about 24 hours when she got home. Of course the stress of the car ride and the terror of the vet experieice is enough to make any cat want to sleep. After that, give her lots of TLC and a nice treat. She'll be fine in a few days.

A sleepy kitty for the first couple of days, but one you'll have to restrain somehow for approximately 5-10 days. We usually set up a pen in the foyer where they can see us and be a part of the family, but where they're confined and limited in movement until the stitches come out or the scars heal a bit.

The worst thing for our kitty was that the vet wanted her to leave that silly collar thing on for 10 days. You try to contain a kitten with a huge collar for that long, they get upset that they can't fit into spots where they used to, and that they can't wash themselves properly.
We were extremely glad to see the end of that collar.
