We leave on Friday, staying a in a 1BR @ BWV from 3/8 for 9 nights and I'm just having the panic about whether we should be bringing items like salt, pepper, maple syrup or anything else. I can't quite think straight - excitement I guess.

We are driving so we will pick up some groceries but what items do you normally bring from home? I'm think of things you can't buy in small enough quantities.

Let me know what you think.

I wouldn't bring anything that I could buy in a small size container unless you think it would be cheaper for you to buy it in Canada. So maybe some sugar if you use it for coffee or cereal. Coffee & a few filters? Salt & pepper can be purchased rather cheaply in a "set" at the store or you could bring it from home. I'd bring an assortment of baggies in diff. sizes so I wouldn't need to buy a whole box. And I would bring a few plastic containers for storing leftovers or microwaving. But if I was planning to stop for groceries in FL I'd just make a very thorough list to buy whatever else I needed when I got there.

We drive down too and take some things with us. Any spices that you like would be a good idea. Although salt and pepper can be purchased in little plastic shakers if necessary. We take a lot of snacks and drinks with us for consumption during the trip mostly. That way we aren't gouged by convenience store prices. Coffee, filters, and whatever sweetener or creamer you use is good. Really anything that you wouldn't use up during your trip. It's a pain to have to bring back leftover food and a waste to have to throw it away.

Head to the Publix. They have a great bakery, nice produce section, good meat, deli and dairy sections. That's one of the first places I head when we arrive. They have some smaller sizes of products there, like butter in two sticks instead of four.

I always bring a few sheets of aluminum foil, small amount of spices in zip loc bags, 10 pack size of sanitary wipes and a some ice tea mix in a zip loc bag. We fly so that makes a difference. We get the est ur groceries through Wego Shop. Have a great trip.

Take a good sharp kitchen knife. We usually take cases of water, beer and soft drinks. Food-wise we take snack type breakfast items, sandwich meat, sliced cheese, condiments, pringles, sandwich bread, bagels, peanut butter etc. We may also take some suddenly salad pasta salad and that is about as heavy as we cook!

We have a lot of items in our Owners Locker, but something we have wanted our last couple of trips was a plastic pitcher big enough to mix up the 2 qt. size of Crystal Light. There was one in the cabinet at either OKW or SSR last year, but usually there isn't and when I call Housekeeping for a 2 qt.pitcher they always bring that hard plastic water pitcher that is open on top, which just isn't big enough. So this year, I am going to see what I can find at the dollar store that we can then leave in our Owners Locker.

When we drive we bring a sharp knife, plastic wrap, tin foil, coffee filters. Salt and pepper, sugar, snack bags of spices if we plan on a particular dish (fahitas, taco's, etc.). A small jar of Cain's Mayo - can't find it in FL!!! All of these things fit on my rolling cooler. (which if we are heading to HH, contains our first night dinner - frozen sauce with meatballs - thaws out on the drive and keeps everything cold.) May bring charcoal this year - a lot cheaper here than what we found down south.

We use the 3 in 1 Purex sheets for the washing machines, so I will bring those.

Have a great time!!!

Janis

Chip clips, Glad bowls with lids for leftovers and extra deep cereal bowls. Ziplocks in various sizes. Purex 3 n 1 sheets for laundry. You can buy odds and ends at the market in the resort.

I refuse to cook on vacation....which then also results in cleaning (another thing I refuse to do on vacation), so I do not bring much. We eat every meal out.

The one thing I always DO bring is a liquid soap pump for each sink, as I do not like using bar soap at the sink.

Call Mousekeeping and they wIll bring you a pitcher. Have a magical trip.

I totally agree with cereal bowls! They're so small.

My parents drive, and bring a bunch of stuff for us. We usually send an electric griddle - way easier to cook breakfast for everyone that way. We also usually have 6 adults in a 2bedroom, so we send a second coffeepot for the room.

As far as food, we send some things that we can't seem to find there, but generally buy the rest when we get there.
